BURNDY® Stainless Steel Dies

FCI BURNDY® Products now manufactures “W”, “U”, “P”, and “L” type dies instainless steel. These dies are commonly used in BURNDY® mechanical, ratchet and hydraulic tools.

For generations, tool steel has been the material of choice for dies. Although func-tional, this required multiple processes including hardening and blackening toensure durability and rust protection. By switching these dies to stainless steel, thelong-term advantage to the end user is that rust is no longer an issue, durability isincreased and manufacturing times are reduced from weeks to days.

Additional benefits include laser engraving of the stainless steel dies. The laserengraving is more pronounced making it easier for installers to ensure correctmatching of dies and connectors. It also provides better die index embossment forinspectability of each connection after the crimp. All at the same price!
