Genre of fiction in which the stories often tell about science and technology or the future.

• Science-sometimes laws or theories of science are fictitious or contradictory

• Time-often set in the future and can involve time travel

• Setting-space, alternate universe, different worlds

•Characters-human, aliens, robots, evolved humans

• Life-new social systems or societies

• Sold newspapers to earn money while he wrote

• Published issues of his own fan magazine, Futuria Fantasia

• Full-time writer by 1943

• Published more than 30 books, 600 short stories, and several poems/plays/screenplays/essays
