Step 2: Research Notes When researching, you need to consider the sources you are looking at:

• Are they reliable? (Do they have a credible source?) • Are they detailed? Is there a range of information available?

Then you need to make notes on the information you find. Notes should be in your own words and you must know which source it came from. Source (Author, title, publisher or website address)

Step 3: Brainstorm potential ideas Now that you’ve done your research, you can start brainstorming what your project will look like. But don’t just go for the first idea; complete a mind-map or do some preliminary designs to see what would be the best idea to go with.

Step 4: Draft your Competition Entry What materials will you need? How will you construct it? What do other people think of your idea? Is there anything you can do to make it better at this point?

Step 5: Reflection and Redrafting So you’ve completed a first draft of your competition entry. What works well about your entry? What are you unhappy with or would like to change about your entry?
