To build a cohesive and effective education and career guidance system within the system of education, accessible from the lower secondary school level, lifelong career guidance must be provided as early as possible taking into account the recommendations developed on the European level

Goal: Education and Career Guidance Model

A preliminary education and career guidance model

A scheme for piloting the external support provided to schools

Piloting the external support for schools in the field of education and career guidance and its evaluation

Field studies regarding the condition of education and career guidance counselling

Modification and development of the final education and career guidance model

Developing the structure for the Online Education and Career Information System

Piloting of the Online Education and Career Information System

to create an information portal that facilitates access to education and career information

Every counsellors district team performs duties grouped in 4 areas:

1.School internal guidance system diagnosis

- interview with headmaster, vocational counselor, desk research

- at least 2 meetings with parents and pupils

2.Supporting school in the development of the internal guidance system

- guidance support/plan of action and development and it’s implementation

3.Development of a local guidance cooperation networks

- 2 networks: vocational counsellors and institutions

4. Popularisation of knowlegde and information about career guidance

Vocational counsellors are employed in 86 schools:

- in 25 schools it’s a full-time job

- in 59 schools it’s a part-time job

- in 2 schools it’s a contract work

diagnosis

- at least 2 meetings with parents and students

2. Supporting school in the development of internal guidance system Plan of action

Plan of action:- based on Polish law regulations (five main areas that a counsellor is obligated to develop in a school)

-prepared for each school individually

- shows what school can do by itself to improve guidance, when and where school can look for

support from external insitutions

- describes how to achieve goals

- who can develop and improve guidance

3. Development of a local guidance cooperation networks

In every district team of vocational counsellors two networks are developed:

3. Development of local guidance cooperation networks Counselors’ network

- In every district there at least 4 workshops for counselors are going to take place

- Each workshop is prepared by one counselor or by team

- Subjects are choosen by a group and are dependent on identified needs: School vocational councellor – my job, my passion
