This Weeks Miniball Results

Year 3/4

The Motupipi Minecraft played in the finals of the Year 3/4

competition against Takaka. It was a tough game and both teams

were really committed. Takaka took out the game 20-10.

Motupipi Magic took on Takaka in a playoff for 5th and 6th and

managed to win 24-10.

“It was a tough game because they were so tall. I did really well at defending. I was like a brick wall.” Mike

“We passed good and we got lots of shots. It seemed like a long game because it was a final. I thought the game would be a tie but they were more physical.” Arjuna

Year 5/6

Due to a lot of illness amongst Rm 1 children we had to default two

teams from Tuesday miniball, however the Scary Scottish

Scorpions, with a couple of fill in players, took on the top Takaka

team the Chunky Ducks. The Scorpions restricted the scoring for a

good bit of the first half before going down 28-6.

This coming Tuesday are the finals games for the Year 5/6 teams.

Tackle 7’s Finals

Next Tuesday, The Motupipi Tackle 7’s team will compete in the regional finals in Nelson. The team to represent us and take on the Nelson and Motueka Schools.is; Caleb (Captain) Oscar, Joey. Alex, Kegan, Chris, Riley , Xavier, Tane and Rhys W.

Me and Jayden are octopuses. We are having fun, we

are tickling each other.

Marae Visit Last Thursday a group of us took part in a Powhiri at the Onetahua Marae for Hira School children, who were visiting the marae as part of a school trip. We have a link with Hira as Kiriana, Tama and Rian have previously attended the school. The children from Hira also visited us on the Friday and spent some time with our children in the classroom. It was a great opportunity for our children to link in with other children and it was a really positive experience for both schools. The Hira parents were taken with our vibrant rooms and the standard of literacy displayed. I was on the welcoming side at the marae. I was able to welcome some of my old friends from Hira. I was able to stay at the marae overnight. Tama

I enjoyed seeing my old friends and playing with them. Laurelee told us stories about the carvings. I liked showing my friends around our school and they liked it. Kiriana

It was my first time at the marae. I liked doing a hongi. I had to do it lots of times. I was nervous at the start but it got easier. The other school were friendly. Luca

Dear Parents,

Thank you for helping at the working bee we really appreciated it. It saved us thousands of dollars for the school. It was a great help doing the waterblasting, fixing the swimming pool fence, putting foam under Room 3, pruning trees, barking the gardens and putting up the sandpit pole.

Kidpreneur has

taught me how to

make planes and

frames and how I can

make things to raise

money for charity. I

am looking forward to

making $50.

By Caleb

I have learned lots about making

a business and selling products.

I am excited about selling our

products on market day.

By Alice

I learned making a

picture frame is

harder than it looks. I

am looking forward to

selling my picture

frames at the market.

By Nathaniel

I have learned about

making a business. I

am looking forward

to selling my

products and

making money for

the SPCA.

By Mia

I have learned that

it is easier and

quicker to do work in

a product line. I am

really looking

forward to selling

my products and

making money for

the SPCA and the

Cancer Society.

By Briget and Zoe

I have learned that a small busi-

ness has to start with a float

which is a small group of coins

for change if we get a note or

something. I also learned that

you have to know what type of

people you are selling too. We

call it our “target market.”

By Gabby

I have had heaps

of fun designing

key rings and I’m

looking forward

to selling them. I

also learned how

to tie good knots.

By Jamie

I have learnt how to make flowers on

the loom. I am excited about selling

our flowers to make money for cancer.

By Alex

I have learnt that to

make a good business

you have to work

hard.

By Joey

I am looking forward

to selling our products

and seeing how much

money we will make by

selling key rings and

bracelets. It’s fun

and exciting creating

names and words with

pretty sparkly beads

and colourful letter

beads.

By Amber and Oscar

I have learnt that you

have to love what you

do to be motivated. I

am excited for when

we sell our things.

By Sian Club Kidpreneur has taught me

that it’s easier to start at a

higher price and drop down to

a lower price, instead of

starting at a lower price. I am

excited because I think we

are going to sell quite a few.

By Nico

Kidpreneur has taught me that

business is fun with people you

don’t really work with usually. I

have learnt that I can do

everything I put my mine to but

it is better with my buddy. I’m

looking forward to selling our

products.

By Heidi

Kidpreneur has

taught me that

making a business is

actually quite easy,

(and fun!)

By Bridie

I have learnt how to make flowers with

the loom. I am excited about when we

make money from them and give it to

the Cancer Society.
