Dengue
Danger
Game
If the teacher can arrange
resources these can be a pin
up game on the wall of the
classroom with one part of the
board being Dengue Safe, the
other part being Dengue
Danger.
Sort pictures of places and
things that are dengue safe or
foster dengue danger. E.g.
pictures of stagnant water
under various circumstances
represents dengue Danger,
Wearing long sleeved clothing
is Dengue safe.
Ask students to devise
Dengue Danger games for
the playground. How can
they adapt current games
they play to build dengue
awareness
Make a game out of it
according to teacher
convenience
Goal: To save the class
board from Dengue
Danger!
3 versions of the Dengue
Danger game here ——>
(i) giving each child one
picture and they pin it to the
right wall in a race format
where each row competes to
be first
(ii) Each child gets a chance
to individually post a picture
on the wall while the class
instantly calls out right or
wrong!
(iii) Make it a game about
dengue winning or losing - if
there are more Dengue
Danger pictures then students
must quickly find more
Dengue Safe Pictures to save
the class board from Danger!
Simple Version: Do this on the
blackboard. Divide the board into
two halves. Write out dengue
danger and dengue safe things as
students call it out. Make sure
Dengue Danger is beaten in this
race!

For
Safety
Discussion - to calm the
class down after the activity
game and to create shared
purpose. Ask each student
to state how they will help
prevent dengue in their
neighbourhood.
(Give them a framework of
Read-Write-Tell-Share-Do
and add to it as they come
up with more ideas)
Design pamphlets to be
shared with neighbourhood
elders on fighting Dengue
Danger.
4-10
minsWhat Will You Do to
Fight Dengue Danger?
If you have little time, ask
them to write out their plan
to prevent Dengue in one
sentence
Write out Dengue
Prevention Slogan/Intention
If you have a bit of time, ask
each student to step up
(even sitting in one place is
ok) and state their plan to
fight Dengue
Own their
Dengue Prevention Plan-
Step up and state what
they will do
Share the dengue prevention
plan/picture of pamphlet via
SMS/Whatsapp with near and
dear friends. (Do not spam)
If you have a lot of time, you
could ask them to discuss it
in pairs for a few minutes
and then share their
resolution with the rest of
the class.
Discuss, agree actions they
can take to fight dengue,
decide actions, plan and
share

Local
Area
Impact
Create Dengue Safe and
Dengue Danger stickers
(paper and glue) and mark
out safe and dangerous
areas in your
neighbourhood or within the
school.
Emphasise application
of what has been
learnt and decided by
identifying Dengue
Danger in the
classroom, in the
school and in nearby
areas and how to turn
them into Dengue Safe
areas.
Divide class into 2-12
groups and allocate local
areas to audit
Conduct Local Area Audits
to identify Dengue Safe or
Dengue Danger Points
Speak to local authorities
and respectfully submit
audit results
e.g. identify and find
solutions to make school
toilets dry areas rather than
allow water to stagnate
where the floor is uneven.
e.g.Mosquitoes in the
classroom are a danger -
what can you do to make
the classroom mosquito free
- share and implement ideas
Track and review audit and
action. Repeat audit to
track changes.
