Factors to consider when choosing accommodation*:

CostThis includes the unit’s monthly rental fees, rental deposit, security deposit, administrative charges, agent fees, etc. It is also good to note that housing in Singapore can be more expensive within the city.

LocationDo check whether the apartment/hostel is conveniently located and if amenities like public transport, grocery stores, food outlets or banks are easily accessible.

Length of LeaseThe minimum lease of a unit is typically one year. You are advised to negotiate the terms of lease with your landlord.

OthersConsider the type of premise, unit size, and the furnishings provided. You should also consider the number of people you will be staying with. If you aren’t comfortable with crowds, look for units with fewer tenants.

Useful property and rental websites:

*Do note that the contract / tenancy agreement will be solely between the student and hostel management / owner. We advise you to read the contract / tenancy agreement carefully before you make any commitment.
