Curriculum Day Just a reminder, we have a Curriculum Day (Student Free Day) on November 5. The
teachers will be working on reading strategies, inquiry maths and our Student Performance
Analyser (SPA) where we keep and analyse all our student data from the tests they do at our school to improve student learning outcomes.
Parent Opinion Survey Results This week we received the data from DET’s Parent Opinion Survey which was carried out last
term. Thanks to those who were invited to take part and did so. The results were very positive with a General Satisfaction rating of 96% and many other variables providing very affirming feedback. As always, we look at all the results very closely, including the comments
written by parents.

Drama club is on every Monday in the GP room first half of lunch for 3-6 students (second half for F-2 on alternate Mondays). Everyone has heaps of fun as we play lots of games. Each week we see students building their confidence and are able to be many different characters. Drama Club is also about improvisation and creativity allowing the children’s imaginations to run wild.

Production Reflection On the 27th of August we held our school production. The Performing Arts and Visual Arts captains worked very hard backstage changing props, making sure everyone is on stage, changing the backdrops and getting ourselves
ready when it was time to perform. Overall it was a really fun experience. Written by: Isabella 5/6P Performing Arts Captain.
What is National Recycling Week? (12th - 16th November 2018)
National Recycling Week is a well established and highly regarded annual education and behaviour change campaign. The aim of the campaign is to increase the environmental benefits, including greater tonnage and less contamination, of kerbside, industrial and community recycling programs. National Recycling Week provides us all with an opportunity to move towards avoiding waste through building on our daily habits to avoid, reduce, reuse and recycle at home, at work, and in the community. National Recycling Week focuses on five streams: 1. Engaging students in learning about the environmental benefits of recycling, through the Schools Recycle Right Challenge. 2. Increasing the number of businesses and workplaces involved in recycling, principally through the promotion of the Friday File Fling.
3. Promoting reuse and recycling initiatives, particularly through promotion of council, school and community events.
4. Improving the understanding of kerbside recycling, principally through an educative Recycle Right Quiz hosted on the National Recycling Week website. 5. Increasing access to accurate recycling information through the RecyclingNearYou website and hotline, as well as the National Recycling Week website. Start recycling today!
START RECYCLING SOFT PLASTICS
Start recycling soft plastics! Did you know you can recycle soft plastics (plastics that you can scrunch in your hand) at your local Woolworths in Seaford? Drop them off there when your bag is full. Set aside a rubbish bag just for soft plastics and empty it into the Red Cycle soft plastics bin at Woolworths, the bin is located across from the front information desk (near the DVD hire stand and the steam cleaning hire).
3198 Seaford BeachPatrol The Seaford beach is a long stretch of beautiful beach and 3198BeachPatrol wants to keep it that way. We meet once a month on a Sunday morning to spend an hour cleaning litter off our beach. Bags, gloves and tongs are provided, however you might like to bring your own gardening gloves. Sign up to get on our email list for cleaning notifications, use the following link to sign up. https://www.beachpatrol.com.au/Contact The next beach clean is on Sunday the 25th of November at Keast Park from 10am-11am. Make sure you sign up so we can add you to our email list where you’ll only receive two emails a month, one is a reminder of our next clean, sent a week beforehand and another thanking you for your efforts including information about the amount of rubbish picked up.

Parents and Friends of SNPS
What an amazingly fun Trivia Night and awesome fundraiser for the school! On Saturday 27 October SNPS hosted its major fundraiser for the year – The Op Shop Trivia
Night raising over $9,800 for the school. With the support of the Parents & Friends Club the small organising
committee of Tammi Munro, Scott Boreham, Mathew Willis, Stuart Thompson spent many hours
putting the evening together and pounded the pavement collecting over 100 donations from 70
wonderful local businesses and families.
Every single donation helped raise money as prizes for the All Night Raffles or through the Silent
or Live Auctions.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along had fun, bought raffle tickets and spent money on
the auctions.

Thank-you! It was a few weeks ago now but Term 3’s Footy Day hot lunch was a
huge success with the kids loving their lunches at the same time as
raising $1,241.80 for the school. A big thank you Patties for donating
the pies and to local businesses Packed Lunch Guy and Peninsula
Larder, for ensuring the pies were delivered hot in time for lunch.
Thank you also to our wonderful band of parent volunteers who gave
up their time to pack and deliver over 287 lunches.
World Teachers Day – October 5 World Teacher's day was recently celebrated around the world. To show our appreciation
Parents Club gave each teacher a card and some goodies to say thanks on behalf of the
community.
