Stoke Newington schooland sixth form

This magazine is a lot more mainstream as the other two. I think this is due to the reason that the magazine is for both the school and the sixth form so its very basic ensuring students of all ages can understand it.

King Edward sixth form

This magazine is very student friendly. It’s based on the lives of students and what they have been up to. The magazine acts as a guide for them to use.

This magazine has a very urban feel to it, perhaps because it try's to appeal to the generation of the sixth form personalising it specifically. Again the magazine acts as a guide for the students but compared to the “king eds mag” this magazine is more entertaining, due to the contents

This magazine is very student friendly as the picture portrays the happiness and lives of the students

The front cover includes features such as: • Sports• Theatre• TripsThis creates an active front cover. This most likely portrays the sixth form as a whole as the magazine has picked out the key articles, personalising it for the students specifically.

The magazine uses a specific logo in every issue which makes it personal as well as professional.

The magazine isn’t worried about covering the face of the student , this is probably because the magazine is popular so they know this wont damage the front cover, popularity or readership.

The magazine uses two main colours: white and yellow. This portrays the active lifestyle of the students as well as the magazine. The colours work well with the image as it creates the idea of having fun outdoors and of enjoying being a student which is important to keep the youthful atmosphere of the magazine.

“life after king eds” highlighted in red is an important feature it reassures students who are leaving or have left it make the magazine more personal as it shows that they are not forgotten and that there best interests at kept high.

The magazine uses students/models from different ethnicities which is important as it shows individuality and how accepting the school is of different cultures.

The use of font play makes the magazine look visually appealing to the reader

The contents page is again very active. It uses two shades of green which makes the page interesting and funky. Making sure it connects with its audience

The shades of green are used as It's associated with the new growth of spring, prosperity, and clean, fresh air which relates to the audience as their back at school and it’s a new term and new beginning.

The magazine contains articles and topics on: • Commendations• Student union• fundraising• Sports• Summer school• Music and dance• Trips• Poetry• Theatre• New term, new look• Preparing for

university

From the contents we can tell that the school is an active school both mentally and physically. The magazine knows that people will be interested in these topics so it doesn’t worry about including other articles or topics.

The letter from the editor makes the magazine more personal as it reaches out to the students especially as the editor is of a higher authority than the students they will take his words and what he recommends and likes about the magazine and read it.

The contents uses modern technology as it include two scan images to be scanned by students phones which will link them to websites to the school and other useful sites
