Key Concepts

• lasts for 3 years• application based on an audit• requires a balance of - art, music, dance, drama• award is based on provision and access - not

quality• award is criteria based - not competitive• criteria are explicit and quantifiable at each award

level (15% of curriculum time means 15% of curriculum time)

• to encourage schools to raise standards of arts education provision - emphasis on provision, to increase opportunities for young people

Assessment and validation• Assessors:
