Travelling by bike

The University is committed to promoting and supporting staff, students and visitors alike who wish to cycle. At the Management School Building there is secure and sheltered cycle storage, showers and changing facilities located on A floor. What’s more, as shown on the map, Northumberland Road is one of Sheffield City Council’s ‘advisory routes’.

The University offers a range of support to cyclists, including the offer of a free 1-2-1 adult cycle training session. A fully qualified cycle trainer can offer support and advice on cycling to the university, and will also undertake an on street training session to pass on some top tips on safe cycling. We also offer a regular Dr Bike service through the recently set up a CycleHut on the main campus where you can get at cost bike repairs and servicing.

Do you live locally? Walking to work could be the healthiest travel option ... as well as the cheapest! What’s more, walking to the main campus from the Management School Building only takes around 15 minutes.

Travelling by rail

Sheffield Train Station, located in the city centre provides links to a wide range of destinations locally, regionally and nationally. Walking to the station from Management School Building would take around 30 minutes or there is a Supertram stop at the station itself.

Travelling by car

There is very limited unrestricted parking in the local area, with a widespread resident parking zone in force. There are some pay and display spaces on Crookesmoor Road and Conduit Road in close proximity to the building with a 4 hour waiting time restriction. There are also a limited number of 2 hour parking bays near the junction of Harcourt Road and Northumberland Road.

We also have 5 visitor spaces and 2 disabled on site email [email protected] to book a place.

If you have to travel by car, and we accept that not everyone can travel by sustainable transport, the university has some car parking in the area, notably on Northumberland Road and off Mushroom Lane (accessed on foot via steps to the rear of the Goodwin Sports Centre). You can find these car parks on the map along with other locations around the main campus.

As with any city-based University, parking on campus is limitedand you’ll need to get a permit from the department you’revisiting, which will usually take one week to arrange. The map above shows you where general parking is available.

Travelling by bus

The nearest bus stops to the Management School Building can be found directly outside the building on Crookesmoor Road. These stops are served by Service 10, a circular service that provides an hourly link into the city centre.

However just 400 metres away on Whitham Road/Western Bank you can access a wide range of high frequency services to the city centre and the Broomhill/Ranmoor/Crookes and Walkley areas. With services running every 5 minute the bus provides an effective and convenient link to the city centre and beyond.

Travelling by supertram

The nearest Supertram stops are located near the main university campus on Upper Hanover Way, about a 15 minute walk away. Here you can access both yellow and blue tram routes and there is a 5 minute frequency during the day between the University and city centre.
