QuestionsHow often do I go to work and training as part of my School Based Traineeship (SAT)?
As a SAT, the traineeship must make animpact on your school timetable. To showthe impact, the school, student,parent/guardian, employer and trainingorganisation must negotiate a schedule ofeducation, training and employment whichdocuments when the student is at work, school and training. SATs must successfully complete between375 hours and 750 hours, depending on thequalification they are completing.
How do I find an employer to take me on as a SAT?
Check out our positions vacant on our website www.pst.edu.au or see your school's Industry Liaison Officer.
Do I get paid?
Yes! You get paid for all of the work you do, but not for training.
What happens if I change schools?
You will need to confirm with the new school that they can continue with your traineeship. We will help you do the rest!
How much does it cost?
For you as the student, absolutely nothing! The government funds eligible students to complete a SAT.
Is there a cost for employers?
Yes. Speak to one of our Business Development Consultants to find out more.
