SSPS STRING ENSEMBLE WORKSHOP DAY – MONDAY 19 March

Dear Parents / Carers,

Strathfield South PS is offering a String Ensemble Workshop day on Monday 19 March to give all string students from Years 1-6 the opportunity to play in ensemble groups with experienced tutors and conductors. Playing in an ensemble group has shown to develop technique, listening and team building skills and reinforces what is learned in individual lessons in a positive and interactive environment.

Students are invited to participate if they have been learning a string instrument for at least ONE YEAR AND ARE CURRENTLY LEARNING from either tutors at school or from an external teacher. They will be placed in a level-appropriate group and given 2-3 pieces of music to prepare with their teacher beforehand. Please note, it is important that you provide us with an active email address below, as no hard copies will be provided.

Throughout the day, there will be small group rehearsals as well as combined ensemble groupings. The day will conclude with a concert at 2:30pm which parents are invited to attend.

If you would like your child to participate in this wonderful opportunity please fill out the form below and submit to the School Office with a non-refundable payment of $20.00 by Friday 9 March.
