age children, especially the young ones, may forget to look both ways when crossingthe street or exiting the school bus. That leaves it up to you as a driver, to be extracareful around schoolyards, neighborhood play areas, and departing school buses.
So remember …when you see yellow, be sure to see red -- as in red alert. Let’sall slow down and give your children the chance they deserve.

GENERAL INFORMATIONClasses at the Wyndmere Public School will begin on Monday, Aug. 22 at 8:35 a.m. andthe school day will end at 3:26 p.m. The school will be open daily for students at 8:15 a.m.The bus routes are similar to last year’s routes. Bus drivers will be contacting families withtheir pick up times. Questions concerning a route should be directed to the superintendentof schools.

Free and reduced meals will be available for those children whose parents’ income con-forms with the federal guidelines. Application blanks will be sent home to all families withthe registration packet. There will be no charging of meals at any time, including the firstday of school. MEALS MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE. Payments are to be made at thehigh school office.
REGISTRATION REGISTRATION will be Thursday, Aug. 16. Grades 7-12 will register from 3-5 p.m.
Fees may be paid at that time. Fees are due on the first day of school. Anyone with K-6 students can stop in anytime during registration on Aug. 16 to pay
fees and hot lunch, and drop off registration materials or you can send these itemswith your student on the first day of school.

• Youth Enrichment Program focuses on thedevelopment of lifelong hobbies throughenriching after-school activities. Third-through sixth-graders at Breckenridge Ele-mentary and St. Mary’s schools are eligible toparticipate.

• School Age Child Care (SACC Fun Club)is a service for families who have children inpre-kindergarten through sixth grade at
Breckenridge or St. Mary’s schools. It islocated in Room 270 of the Elementary/MIddle School and is open daily from 3-6p.m.
• Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)Extra is a preschool opportunity for parents togrown and learn with their child. Children age3 by Sept. 1 are eligible to participate. Morn-ings 8:30-11 a.m. or afternoons 12:30-3 p.m.To register, please call 640-4180.

Class HoursSchool begins at 8:35 a.m., and closes at 3:26 p.m. daily. Doors open at 8:15 a.m.
Bus InformationThe pick up order will be the same as last spring. Pick up order will be reversed at thesemester break in January. Any new stops or discontinued stops should be brought to theattention of the Superintendent as soon as possible.

Registration for 2012-13 TermStudents and parents should watch their mail for a letter notifying them of
Registration dates. Registration will take place at the school. Anyone newto the district or who does not receive a letter should call the school officeat 538-7341. All students are urged to register before classes resume onWednesday, Aug. 22.
Food Service ProgramNoon Meal charges will be as follows:
• Grade K-6 Meals - $2.40 per meal• Grades 7-12 Meals - $2.55 per meal • Adult Meals - $3.05 per meal
Reduced Meal Prices• Kindergarten - Grade 12: 40¢ per meal
Breakfast Program Prices:• Kindergarten - Grade 12: $1.30 per meal
Reduced Breakfast Program Prices:• Kindergarten - Grade 12: 30¢ per meal
Milk Break Prices.• Grades K-6: $14.00 per month, or $125 per year.
Free and reduced meals will be available to those chil-dren whose parent’s income conforms with the FederalGuidelines. Application blanks for free and reduced pricemeals will be given to the children the first day of school.
There will be no charging of meals at any time, includingthe first day of school. MEALS MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE!
School Bus ConductMisbehavior on the school bus will not be tolerated. The first time a
student misbehaves on a bus, he/she will be disciplined accordingly.The second time a student misbehaves on a bus, he/she will not beallowed to ride the bus for a period of time depending upon the behav-ior. The third time a student misbehaves on a bus, he/she will not beallowed to ride the bus for the remainder of the semester.
All students will be assigned seats by the bus driver. Students willbe expected to remain in their assigned seats. Failure of a student tosit in his/her assigned seat will be considered as a misbehavior.
Student Accident InsuranceStudent accident insurance is available through the school. If at any
time during the school day or at school functions, within the building oron the school grounds, a student is a victim of an accident or somemishap, the accident must be reported to the main office as soon aspossible, but always the day of the accident. All injuries must be report-ed to your insurance company within 15 days.
Payment of Hot Lunch &Student Registration Fees
Parents and students are asked to stop at the schooladministrative office during registration to take care of hotlunch and student registration fees.
Athletic season tickets may also be purchased at thistime.

These fees must be settled by the end of the first nineweek grading period. Parents who are unable to pay thesefees at the scheduled time should contact the superinten-dent's office to make arrangements to settle at a later date.
Admission Prices &Athletic Season Tickets
Admission prices for the 2012-13 sports season for bothstudents and adults will be $5 for varsity games. Admission tojunior high events will be $2. Season tickets will be honoredat all home varsity and junior high athletic games in Lidger-wood and Wyndmere. Season pass prices are: Adults, $60;Senior Citizens, $45.
