ELIGIBILITY• Malaysian students studying full-time in Sunway University/Sunway College (Kuala Lumpur) who are State or National athletes

(2 years prior to joining Sunway University/Sunway College (Kuala Lumpur) – Year 2015).• Only selected sports are eligible for Sports Scholarship, such as archery, athletics (track & field, javelin, long jump, triple jump,

high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus), badminton, basketball, bowling (tenpin), chess (international), cricket (male only), fencing, football, futsal, hockey (male only), judo, karatedo, netball (female only), rugby (male only), table tennis, taekwondo (WTF), tennis, volleyball, squash and swimming

Note: If an applicant’s chosen sport is not part of the list of sports for the Sunway Sports Scholarship, it will then fall under the discretion of the Sunway University/Sunway College (Kuala Lumpur) Scholarship Committee to accept the application and/or to grant an interview.

ELIGIBILITYa. Malaysian and international students studying full-time in Sunway University/Sunway College (Kuala Lumpur).b. Candidates with relevant background as below may apply: i. Music background (minimum Grade 6 or played in the school bands) that falls under these categories 1. String instruments (piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, etc.) 2. Wind instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, etc.) 3. Brass instruments (trumpet, trombone, tuba, etc.) 4. Percussion instruments (drum, cymbal, xylophone, marimba, triangle, bells, tambourine, wood block, etc.) ii. Singing background or joined the school choirc. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend a live audition playing 2 music pieces of different stylesd. Awarding of the scholarship is subject to the auditione. Shortlisting criteria: i. Submit a video clip of music category applied. The video clip can be recorded with handphone/camera/video camera. It does not need to be professionally done. ii. Upload the video to Youtube and send the link to scholarship@sunway.edu.my (with the Subject: Music Talent Scholarship Application Video) 1. For instrument - If you play more than one instrument (e.g. piano & violin), submit the video clip for both instruments. - The selected song needs to be on par with your grade level e.g. if you are a Grade 8 violinist, please choose a song that is at Grade 8 level. Exam pieces are not advisable. 2. For vocal - You may submit one song in any language of your choice. It has to be with accompaniment.

Siblings are entitled to RM500 discount on their tuition fee. This is a one-off deduction for new registrations (i.e. new students) only. The Sibling Discount will be awarded to the next sibling when both siblings attend Sunway University/Sunway College (Kuala Lumpur) at the same time and tuition fees are paid in full; or if one of the siblings has completed or is still pursuing a programme of study of more than a year’s duration at Sunway University/Sunway College (Kuala Lumpur). GENERALTERMS&CONDITIONSFORALLSCHOLARSHIPS1. The scholarship is offered strictly to full-time registered students at Sunway

University/Sunway College (KL).2. Offer of scholarship will only be made when the Institution receives the actual

results. (Academic Certificate validity is 1 year prior to joining Sunway University/Sunway College (KL) - year 2016 except otherwise stated).

3. Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted.4. English 1119 will not be considered when granting the scholarship.5. The scholarship awarded takes the form of a tuition fee deduction; it is not

a cash award. In the event where the scholarship amount awarded is more than the tuition fee payable of the year, the recipient will be awarded up to maximum tuition fees payable of the year only.

6. The schedule of general fees must be paid as and when required, in accordance to Sunway University/Sunway College (KL)’s policy on enrolment and fees.

7. The scholarship ONLY covers tuition fee deduction in subjects enrolled for the first time (first attempt), NOT for the ‘repeat’ subjects.

8. For students who are eligible for several forms of discount by Sunway Education Group or Sunway Group (e.g. Staff Discount, Sibling Discount, others), the scholarship awarded will be applicable on the net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of the relevant discount/ bursary.

9. In the event that the recipient withdraws from the programme, is suspended or terminated by the Sunway University/Sunway College (KL) at any point in time, before the completion of the programme, the scholarship shall be automatically terminated. However, should the recipient withdraw from the programme due to the medical reasons, his/her scholarship may be retained, subject to the absolute discretion of Sunway University/Sunway College (KL), and only after the recipient has provided adequate supporting medical documents acceptable to Sunway University/Sunway College (KL).

10. Should such a withdrawal, termination or suspension happen, Sunway University/Sunway College (KL) reserves the right to claim for the recovery of the fees due, which are calculated on a pro rata basis. This is based on the valuable benefit received by the recipient.

11. Should the recipient accept any other scholarship (of any amount), this scholarship will be terminated automatically. The Sunway University/Sunway College (KL) reserves the right to claim for the recovery of the fees due, which are calculated on a pro rata basis. 12. The duration of the scholarship will end upon completion of the study period specified by Sunway University/Sunway College (KL). Sunway College (KL). No extensions are allowed.

13. In the event of a dispute on the eligibility for the scholarship, the decision made by the Sunway Scholarship Committee is final.

14. Sunway University/Sunway College (KL) reserves the right to alter, add or delete any of the terms and conditions and scholarship scheme at any point in time as and when Sunway University/Sunway College (KL) deems necessary.

15. Sunway University/Sunway College (KL) reserves the right to involve the scholarship recipients in interviews, advertisements, photography or other publicity related activities for the purpose of promoting the educational institution.

16. Noncompliance to any of the terms and conditions related to the relevant scholarship would amount to a breach of contract.

For Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship and Continuing ScholarshipA. For Pre-University/Sunway Foundations/Professional Accounting

Programmes:1. The scholarship is offered strictly to full time registered students of Sunway

College (KL) upon settlement of the first semester fees. It is mandatory that the recipient completes the entire duration of the course.

2. Special Scholarship recipients may apply to convert the scholarship to a higher quantum on the Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship. Scholarship funds which are already utilized in the Special Scholarship will be considered as part of the Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship. Therefore recipients will only be eligible to receive the remaining surplus of funds available on the higher scholarship. Balance of fees is to be paid by the recipients.

3. Disbursement of scholarship: - 1 year programme. The disbursement of scholarship will be

implemented in the 2nd semester of the programme. - 1.5 year programme. The disbursement of scholarship will be distributed

in equal amount between 2nd semester and 3rd semester of the programme.

For full scholars, any reimbursement applicable will be made upon successful completion of the programme.

4. Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments upon securing the scholarship. Any excess amount paid in the first semester will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the programme.

5. Tuition fee deduction for full scholars applies as the following: - - Australian Matriculation (5 subjects tuition fee)

- A-Level (3 subjects tuition fee) - Canadian International Matriculation Programme (7 subjects tuition fee) - Monash University Foundation Year (8 units tuition fee) - Sunway Foundation in Arts (6 Core Units, 4 Academic Elective, 5 Enrichment

Units) - Sunway Foundation in Science & Technology (4 Core Units, 6 Academic

Elective, 5 Enrichment Units)

B. For Diploma Programmes:1. The scholarship is offered strictly to full time registered students of Sunway

University/Sunway College (KL) upon settlement of the first semester fees. It is mandatory that the recipient completes the entire duration of the course.

2. The scholarship will be implemented in the 2nd semester of the programme.3. Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments until the full

utilisation of the total 1st year tuition fee.4. Full scholars upon utilising the total of the 1st year tuition fee, will continue fee

payments for the remaining semesters.

C. For American Degree Transfer Program:1. The scholarship is offered strictly to full time registered students of Sunway

University upon settlement of the first semester fees. It is mandatory that the recipient completes the entire duration of the course.

2. The scholarship will be implemented from the 2nd semester of the programme until the full utilisation of the scholarship amount granted. Scholars upon utilising of the total amount granted shall continue to make payments on the remaining billable amounts.

3. Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments until the full utilisation of the total 30 credit hours tuition fee. Scholars upon utilising the total of the 30 credit hours tuition fee will continue tuition fee payments for the remaining semesters.

D. For Degree Programmes:1. The disbursement of scholarship will be distributed in equal amount between the

first two semesters of the programme. Balance of the scholarship will be deducted from the 3rd semester’s tuition fees payable for the year. (Applicable to the Degree programmes with 3 semesters in academic year).

2. For UEC scholars: - Results for all subjects must be grade C and above. - Points are calculated based on best 5 subjects of at least grade B.3. For A-Level Scholars: - Results for the best 3 subjects must be Grade C and above.4. To renew, scholars are required to reapply for the continuation of the scholarship

through Student LIFE on a yearly basis.5. Scholars must maintain the following minimum grades as part of the criteria to

continue the scholarship: a. Scholars on RM6,000 scholarship must meet a minimum of 60% grade average. b. Scholars on RM11,000 scholarship must meet a minimum of 65% grade

average.6. There shall be no upgrading of scholarships.7. A recipient who applies for the Programme Transfer may retain his/her scholarship

provided that the new programme does not extend the duration of the scholarship. Scholarship funds which are already utilized will not be applied to the new programme. Any balance of fees is to be paid by the recipient.

E. For Continuing Scholarship:1. Students receiving this scholarship are not eligible for the 10% Loyalty Bursary.2. This scholarship is only available to Sunway University students (Malaysian &

international) who have completed either a Pre-University, Diploma or Foundation programme with Sunway University/Sunway College (KL), Sunway College (JB), Sunway College (Ipoh) or Sunway College (Kuching).

3. The disbursement of scholarship will be distributed in equal amount between the first two semesters of the programme. Balance of the scholarship will be deducted from the 3rd semester’s tuition fees payable for the year. (Applicable to the Degree programmes with 3 semesters in academic year).

4. To renew, scholars are required to reapply for the continuation of the scholarship through Student LIFE on a yearly basis.

5. Scholars must maintain the following minimum grades as part of the criteria to continue the scholarship:

a. Scholars on RM8,000 scholarship must meet a minimum of 60% grade average. b. Scholars on RM12,000 scholarship must meet a minimum of 65% grade

3. Scholars MUST represent the Institution in MASISWA, SUKIPT and IPT games or any other tournaments as and when required by the Institution Management.

4. Sports Scholarship athletes must maintain good grades.5. Athletes are required to contribute at least 20 hours per year on

conducting sports training workshop, clinical work etc (exclude competition hours).

6. The Sports Scholarship is reviewed on a yearly basis. Scholarships can be revoked based on the discretion of the Institution.

7. The final decision to grant the scholarship is at the sole discretion of the selection panel.

8. If an applicant’s chosen sport is not part of the List of Sports for the Sunway Sports Scholarship, it will then fall under the discretion of Sunway University/Sunway College (KL) scholarship committee to accept the application and/or to grant an interview.

For Sunway Music Talent Scholarship1. It is compulsory for the recipient to perform a minimum of 6

scheduled performances per year as and when required by Sunway University/Sunway College (KL).

2. The disbursement of Scholarship will be implemented in the second semester of the programme. Any excess amount paid in the first semester will be reimbursed upon sucessful completion of the programme.

3. The recipients should at least pass with minimum grade required by the respective programme.

4. To renew, recipients are required to reapply for the continuation of the scholarship through Student LIFE on a yearly basis.

ForSunway-ICAEWGlobalAccountantScholarshipScheme1. Only Malaysian citizens are eligible to apply.2. Offer of scholarship will be made only when Sunway College (KL)

receives the actual results and after an interview has been conducted.3. The terms and manner in which the scholarship is disbursed will be

decided by Sunway College (KL). All decisions made by the Sunway College Scholarship Committee are final.

For Sunway University Community Bursary1. This bursary is applicable for new registered students to Sunway

University only. (Students will have to meet the entry requirements of the programme enrolled.)

2. The bursary is offered from the commencement of the programme and will be granted in the form of a partial tuition fee waiver.

3. Applications are based on results obtained in SPM, O-Level & UEC examinations taken in year 2016.

4. Students applying based on forecast results will be granted the bursary on a conditional offer that the actual result must meet the minimum entry requirements. Failing to do so will result in the bursary being revoked.

5. For students who are eligible for several forms of discount by Sunway Education Group or Sunway Group (e.g. Staff Discount, Sibling Discount, others), the bursary awarded will be applicable on the net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of the relevant discount.

6. The quantum of awards to successful applicants is at the sole discretion of Sunway University.

7. This bursary is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash or other alternatives.

8. This bursary will be terminated upon completion of the normal prescribed study period specified by Sunway University. The bursary is not applicable to tuition fee occurred due to repeat subject.

9. Sunway University reserves the right to review this bursary awarded on a yearly basis. The bursary may be withdrawn at anytime should the student fail to meet the required academic grades or due to misconduct.

10. In the event that the bursary recipient withdraws from the programme, is suspended or terminated by Sunway University at any point in time, before the completion of the programme, the bursary shall automatically be terminated.

11. The final decision to grant the bursary is at the sole discretion of Sunway University.

12. All applications must be received by the stipulated deadlines. Late applicants will not be considered.

For Sibling Discount1. Applicants must be registered as Sunway University/Sunway College

(KL) students. 2. Not applicable to government sponsored, corporate sponsored or

Language programmes students.3. Offer of discount will only be made when the Institution receives the

following documented proof: a. Certified photocopies of Birth Certificates for both siblings; b. Certified photocopies of Completion Certificate, Academic

Transcripts or Current Student ID Card from Sunway University/ Sunway College (KL) of a sibling.

4. The discount is in the form of deduction from tuition fee. It shall not be deducted from any general, registration, application or exam fees.

5. This discount is provided as a “One Time Off Deduction” for new registrants only. It will not be valid for returning, repeating or continuing students.

6. The final decision to grant the discount is at the sole discretion of the Admissions Office of Sunway University.

7. This discount is valid for all Malaysians and International students.
