Chandler-Gilbert Community College provides scholarships and opens doors to the future. Do you want to earn college credits while attending high school? • Are you a sophomore in high school? • Are you the first one in your family to attend college? • Is your GPA 2.0 or higher? • Do you live in a single-parent home? • Would you like to earn up to 24 credits towards your college degree? If a student is selected for the ACE program, a scholarship is provided to cover tuition for up to 24 college credits. Students and parents are responsible for purchasing textbooks and providing transportation. Students enrolled in the ACE program take two classes during the Summer semester and one course on Saturdays during the Fall and Spring semesters. CGCC’s ACE program serves students from local East Valley high school districts such as Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, and Higley, as well as charter and private schools. Since 1988, more than 13,000 high school students have benefited from the ACE Plus program in the Maricopa County Community College District. The Maricopa Community Colleges’ Achieving a College Education (ACE) program is a two-year program designed to increase the number of students that graduate from high school, matriculate to college, and earn a degree or certificate. ACE targets first- generation college students. Students are selected at the end of 10th grade and start the ACE program during the summer between the 10th and 11th grades. ACE offers a supportive, cohort-based program that offers participants the opportunity to begin earning college credits, strengthen academic skills, and raise self-esteem. Student Achievements• 96% of the high school students affiliated with the program graduate from high school.• 80% of program participants who graduate from high school go on to attend post- secondary institutions both in and out of state.• Students may earn a total of 18–24 college credits by the time they graduate from their respective high schools. • 3.32 (B) is the overall GPA of college course work completed while in the ACE Plus Program.

Application ProcessAny sophomore from local high schools may apply through their high school counselor or through the ACE office.

All students accepted into the program are required to take the college placement test and attend mandatory orientations (with their parent/guardian) prior to the first day of classes. Applications are accepted every Fall semester between September and December.
