Un Mensaje de Nuestro Pastor Mis hermanos y hermanas, Espero que estén bien y que la tormenta y todo lo demás la semana pasada hayan pasado en paz. Todavía estamos esperando que llegue mientras escribo esto. ¡Pero qué diferencia puede hacer una semana! No me refiero solo a la tormenta o los materiales para la nueva Casa Borski que llegaron el Miércoles, o las otras cosas que estamos haciendo aquí en San Patricio, si queremos ser realmente lo que somos, una parroquia. El Domingo pasado, Jesús preguntó a sus discípulos quién dicen que es él, ¡Y Pedro le contestó bien! Pero hoy escuchamos a Jesús decir: “¡Apártate de mí, Satanás! Eres un obstáculo para mí. No piensas como Dios, sino como los seres humanos ". Es bueno evitar el sufrimiento y las pruebas -lo pedimos cada vez que rezamos el Padre Nuestro- pero, al mismo tiempo, sabemos que, si de verdad queremos ser discípulos de Jesús, debemos negarnos a nosotros mismos, tomar nuestra cruz y seguirlo. Por cómo respondemos a Jesús, cómo soportamos el sufrimiento, descubrimos quiénes somos realmente. ¡Gracias por su bondad con todos los que sufren estos días! Por "ofrecer sus cuerpos en sacrificio vivo", para que otros conozcan el amor de Dios. Por favor hagan algo específico para crecer y compartir su fe con los demás, y que Dios nos renueve a cada uno en la esperanza. Espero el fin de semana del Día del Trabajo, ¡La rifa deberá ser divertida! Vamos a hacer todo de la forma más segura posible, pero eso depende de cada uno de nosotros. A Message from our Pastor

My brothers and sisters, I hope y'all stay well and that Laura and everything else last week passed peacefully. We're still waiting for it to arrive as I write this. But what a difference a week can make! I'm not just talking about the storm or the new Borski House's frame, which arrived on Wednesday, or the other things we're doing here at St Patrick if we're to really be what we are, a parish- last Sunday, Jesus asked His dis-ciples who did they say He is. And Peter got it right! But today we hear Jesus say, " “Get be-hind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do." It's good to avoid suffering and trials- we ask this every time we pray the Our Father- but, at the same time, we know that, if we really want to be Jesus' disciples, we must deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him. By how we answer Jesus, how we endure suffering, we find out who we really are. Thank you for your kindness to all who suffer these days! For "offering your bodies as a living sacrifice," so that others know God's love. Please do something specific to grow in and share your faith with others, and may God renew us each in hope. I look forward to the Labor Day weekend- the raffle should be fun! We're going to do things as safely as possible but that depends on each of us. Summary of Faith Formation Advisory Board meeting, THU 8/27: Thanks to all y’all who shared in our meeting 8/27 and thanks again for your participation and patience with the tech issues. Volunteers Needed for Gabriel Project The Office of Pro-Life Activities is seeking phone volunteers to assist with the Gabriel Project, a ministry for pregnant women and mothers in need. Volunteers will assist mothers and answer questions during initial intake calls. Volunteers should be available for at least one (two-hour) shift per week. Calls may be answered remotely. Training will be provided!
