On behalf of the Kearney Catholic students, staff andBoard of Education, I would like to welcome you to the18th GOLD Dinner and Auction.

The generosity of our donors and of you our specialguests, coupled with the hard work of literally hundredsof volunteers has been critical to Kearney Catholicbeing able to sustain its growth and build upon itssuccesses.

The tangible gifts of GOLD are found throughout theschool: from computers, textbooks, video projectors,vans, science equipment, a bus suburbans and much,much more.

Even more important are the intangibles that GOLD hashelped to sustain. The greatest of which is simply thedream of Kearney Catholic, the option of having aChristian based educational environment, a place wherestudents can grow academically while cultivating theChristian beliefs and ideals that are as relevant today asthey were 200 years ago.

Educationally the students at Kearney Catholic haveperformed at a level that is near the very top in thestate. The “Gift of GOLD” is a major contributor to thisexcellence. The tangible gifts, the goal of creatingsomething really special to the thousand of man hoursthat are donated to make GOLD a success all contributeto the “ideal” of striving for excellence.

The special season for giving thanks is upon us. Thereis no way that we can adequately thank you for sogenerously sharing your blessings. Your generositytruly humbles us and we thank you for your presenceand support.

General Auction Rules

1. All sales are final, and there will be no exchangesor refunds on items except where specified; in mostcases all items and services must be used byNovember 15, 2013.

2. Use only the Bid Number assigned to you. This isyour number for bidding purposes and you areresponsible for any bid made with your number.

3. Payments may be made with cash, check,MasterCard, Discover, and Visa. Payment ismandatory the evening of GOLD 2012 unless otherarrangements have been made. Group purchaseswill be allowed but details must be coordinatedwith the Auction Cashier. Purchased items may beremoved by exhibiting a paid receipt.

4. Items must be removed the evening of GOLD 2012unless arrangements have been made.

5. Kearney Catholic High School and the donorsmake NO express or implied warranties of fitness,merchantability, or the like, or representations ofany kind or nature with respect to the property orservices being sold at this auction. NO statementin the catalog or statements made at the sale shallbe deemed to be a warranty, representation, orassumption of liability. Neither Kearney CatholicHigh School, the Kearney Catholic High SchoolFoundation or the Donors are responsible for anypersonal injuries or damages to property orservices sold.

6. To determine the amount of the charitable contribu-tion, consult your tax advisor. Values set forth onitems being auctioned are the donor’s estimate andare not warranted by GOLD.

7. If the item purchased requires donor assistance, itis suggested that the donor be contacted as soonas possible after GOLD 2012.

8. Absentee bidding has been included for those whoare unable to attend but wish to bid on any item.Ask for more information.

9. Auction Cashiers will be at the reception tablesnear the entrance of the building.

Silent Auction Rules

1. The Silent Auction tables will open at 6:00 p.m.Tables A-E will close precisely at 7:30 p.m.Tables F-K will close precisely at 7:40 p.m.Tables L-P will close precisely at 7:50 p.m.Centerpieces will close precisely at 8:00 p.m.

2. Each Silent Auction item will have a Bid Card nextto it on the Silent Auction tables. To enter a bid,write your Name, and/or Bid Number, and AmountOf Bid. You must enter at least the MINIMUMBID. EACH SUBSEQUENT BID MUST EQUAL OREXCEED THE MINIMUM RAISE AND BE WRIT-TEN ON THE NEXT AVAILABLE BLANK LINE ONTHE BID CARD. Bids may be disqualified if theydo not meet the minimum bid or raise. SilentAuction Workers will be available to answerquestions and assist in completing the Bid Cards.When the Silent Auction tables close, the silentAuction Workers will highlight the successful bidand take the Bid Card to the Auction Clerks. In theevent of a discrepancy in bids, a GOLD committeemember will make the final judgment, which will befinal.

3. After the winning bid has been determined, a SilentAuction Worker will deliver the bid form to thesuccessful bidder and the other copy will bereturned to the Auction Cashier. The successfulbidder will present the copy to the Cashier alongwith payment to pick up the item(s).

Grand Auction Rules

1. The Grand Auction will begin at 8:00 p.m. andwill continue without interruption until all GrandAuction items have been auctioned. GrandAuction items will be on display from 6:00 p.m.until the end of the evening.

2. To enter a bid, raise your Bid Number highenough to attract the attention of the auctioneer.Bid takers will be available to watch for bids andto call out bids to the auctioneer. You are respon-sible for all bids made on your behalf by the bidtakers.

3. Upon making a winning bid, an auction runnerwill deliver a bid form to the successful bidder,and the other copy will be returned to the AuctionCashier. The successful bidder will present thecopy to the Cashier along with payment to pickup the item(s).

4. Decisions of the auctioneer shall be final.

Absentee Bidding

Absentee Bidding is available to accommodatefriends of Kearney Catholic High School. Thosewho are unable to be present for the dinner willhave an opportunity to bid on the silent and liveauction items. Designated GOLD representativeswill be bidding for these individuals.
