The front and side profile give the Enviro300 the sleek yet substantial look – and its window line and curved rear section combine to give it a contemporary up to the minute appearance that is emphasised when the option of bonded and tinted glass is incorporated.

Interior

Bright modern colours, textures and styling throughout complement the exterior image. The interior has been designed to feature more seats than similar sized buses.

There is a wide choice of seating and layout options, with luxury leather seating being a popular customer choice. The wheelchair position is easily accessible via manual or powered ramp.

Based on the latest Scania Euro6 K-series chassis with its 280bhp Scania engine which can run on either CNG or bio natural gas. The gas tanks are located on the roof of the bus to achieve maximum passenger loading.

Storage

The gas powered buses store gas at 200 bar in eight roof-mounted light weight composite tanks. High levels of safety have been applied and the tank mounting and bracing system has been subjected to a comprehensive finite analysis.

Gas bus operations are on the increase and are significantly less expensive than hybrid, hydrogen, and electric systems. The Green Stamp for “Renewable energy” credentials of bio-methane is not only attractive environmentally but financially rewarding.

In maintenance terms the diesel and gas power units are similar with only around 40 parts that are not common across the two versions.

In parallel with this, it retains the passenger comforts and dependability that are the hallmark of the market-leading Enviro400 range.

The Enviro400CBG City features a raked, wrap-round driver’s windscreen with the wipers recessed at the top, a stylish glazed stairwell, and a shallow upper deck windscreen which, combined with other design features, significantly reduces solar gain in warm weather.

The City body also retains the same depth of windows as the original Enviro400 Euro6 design, incorporating ADL’s unique QRG (Quick Release Glazing) system, while both the upper

and lower deck windows also feature hopper vents, an aspect of the model that has proved hugely popular with operators and passengers across the UK.

Light, airy, welcoming. Three words that describe the experience passengers can expect on entering the new Enviro400CBG City. They will be struck immediately by the wide entrance and aisles, the ample space for buggies and wheelchair users, the natural light that floods in through the wrap-around front windows, the glazed stairwell and the sky-view glazing at the rear of the upper deck.

Structure

The low weight body structure consists primarily of aluminium extrusions and shear panels with the addition of stainless steel in areas of higher stress ensuring a high body stiffness and durability whilst minimising the vehicle mass.

Exterior Panels

Exterior aluminium side panels are flush fitting with the glazing units giving a clean aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Glazing

The vehicle has ADL’s patented Quick Release Glazing (QRG).

Door

The single door entrance is fitted with a twin leaf inward swing glider door with active seals for improved sealing performance.

Interior Trim

The interior comprises of wipe-clean laminates for ease of cleaning which can be tailored and coloured to the operator’s requirements and to match floor and seat colour schemes.

Driver’s Cab

A spacious, comfortable, quiet and ergonomically designed driver’s cab, giving excellent forward vision enhanced by the use of a curved windscreen, is provided. The integrated assault screen available with both fixed and drop down screens in the door provides superb driver protection.

Heating and Ventilation

The standard vehicle is supplied with a blownair heating system to the saloons with forced air ventilation from the front dash. The vehicle structure is insulated with fire retardant sheet insulation.

Electrical System

The 24 volt electrical system is fully multiplexed, with hardware located in easy-to-access locations. The system provides intuitive On-Board Diagnostics via the driver’s screen. The chassis system wiring is integrated and routed through the body, to improve reliability and accessibility. Lighting check switch eases driver’s vehicle inspection. Continuous saloon lighting is provided by stylish LED strips as standard. LED lights are standard throughout the vehicle with the exception of the headlamps.

Gas Partnership When choosing to invest in gas powered buses, the correct infrastructure to suit different business models is an element Scania are well aware of. Being able to call upon specialists in this field is a must, and has proved rewarding for a number of operators.

Scania is now working in partnership with suppliers to meet our customers desired re-fuelling infrastructure requirements.

The initial contact with an infrastructure supplier typically starts with a gas supply survey in and around the chosen depot location, followed by an on-site survey to discuss the most suitable location for any future gas fuelling station.

With the re-fuelling time of a gas bus being comparable to any Euro6 diesel, fuel dispensers are often located alongside conventional diesel dispensers, which eliminate any special refuelling route for buses returning from their shift. To quote our customer “they simply fall in line with our diesel buses for re-fuelling”.
