SUMMARY 

 The purpose of the document is to describe new features and enhancements in the latest SaxoTrader v2.2.4 in order for the various stakeholders to package and customise the release contents for each channel.   This document includes features and enhancements which make up the Q3 release of SaxoTrader.  Enhancements and New Features  

• 2 Click Trading  • Speed Amounts  • Updated Instrument Explorer  • Trade Settings quick launch button  • Real‐Time positions (Fast Updating Account Summary)  • Dynamic Workspaces • Reset amount to zero after order execution • Welcome Page • Charting enhancements, including:

FUNCTIONALITY 

1.0  “2  CLICK  TRADING”   

The end user can now benefit from “2 Click Trading” for Spot and Order placement. The new feature allows the user to monitor and check the order prior to execution with a pop up confirmation screen which outlines amount, price and cost. The single click trading on SaxoTrader will remain as the default setting, if the user requires “2 Click Trading” it must be enabled from Trade Settings. In order to enable “2 Click Trading” the user must select the new Trading Settings button from the toolbar to launch the module.

1.1  TRADING  SETTINGS  –  “2  CLICK  TRADING”  

The Trade Settings can now be launched from a quick selection button on the tool bar or from the tools menu. The trading settings allow the user to enable 2 Click Trading for spot, order placement and changing of orders.

Order Placement “2 Click Trading”

It is now possible to have 2 Click Trading when placing or changing an order. With “2 Click Trading” enabled from trading settings and the user clicks on Place Order button from a trade module an order confirmation pops up outlining the side, amount, order type and price.

The change order confirmation displays the price field in bold and with a grey background to highlight the amendment. All fields that can be modified will be displayed in bold and with a grey background when changed.

1.2  SPEED  AMOUNTS   

Speed Amounts have been added to all trading modules with amount fields. The main purpose of the speed amounts is to provide the user with quick single click default amounts available for selection.

The user can select Edit Amounts from the drop down menu in order to change the default values per instrument. All asset classes have pre-defined default amounts tailored to the most frequently used amounts.

The user also has the ability to define the increment step per contract, by using the mouse wheel they can scroll up and down in the preset figure. Example: Amount = 1,000,000 Increment = 100,000 By clicking in the amount field and scrolling up or down on the mouse wheel will move the amount to 1,100,000 or 900,000. If the speed amount field has a zero entry nothing will appear in the drop down menu and it will be disabled.

Trade Settings allow the user to personalise the view and trading conditions. The user can enable the amount field to set to zero after every trade which reduces the chances of any trading errors.

The always clear amount field flag within trading settings resets the field to zero on all trade modules after a trade is placed. This disables trading and reduces errors; also the user always knows what value is in the amount field.

   

1.3  DYNAMIC  WORKSPACES 

Dynamic Workspaces allows the user to choose a region including Europe, US or Asia and asset class of interest and SaxoTrader will automatically construct a workspace complete with a Tradeboard, Open Orders, Chart, Chat and Streaming News.

The user does not have to use the dynamic workspaces; it is still possible to create a user defined work space containing multiple charts, research and account summary.

1.4  REAL‐TIME  ACCOUNT  SUMMARY  (FUAS  FAST  UPDATING ACCOUNT  SUMMARY)  

The Account Summary screen will now update prices and account profit and loss data with a real-time feed. Workspaces that have account summary screens already active will automatically migrate to the new real-time account summary screen. The Account Summary screen can be launched form the Account menu and will have a real-time feed. The summary screen displays the Cash and position summary as well as the Margin summary it is however possible to view the account summary screen without this information see figure 2.

The Open Position screen is launched from the Tools menu and only contains position data and not the cash and margin summary.

1.4  CHART  ENHANCEMENTS   

Improved Study calculation choices Users can now calculate studies on a wider range of inputs including the Mid price of a bar, the High + Low + Close divided by 3, the Open + Close divided by 2, and the Open + High + Low + Close divided by 4.

Copy to Clipboard/Copy to File It is now possible to copy a chart directly to the clipboard, making it easier to then paste into documents/email. To Copy to Clipboard, click the Copy toolbar button

Link Charts It is now possible to link charts within the same View, meaning that changes to instrument, timeframe, or Chart Type will be applied to all linked charts. To add a chart

to the “linked” group, click the link button on the toolbar. This means that any changes made to this chart will also be made to other linked charts in the same View.

For example, the following montage consists of 30 minute charts of EURUSD, EURGBP, EURCHF, and EURJPY. If they are all linked, the user can change them all to Daily, by changing timeframe in only one chart.

Equally, a montage of EURUSD Weekly, Daily, 1 Hour, and 5 Minute charts, can be altered to USDJPY, just by changing the symbol in one chart.

Chart Overlays In addition to Comparative Charts which show percentage change, it is now possible to overlay multiple charts to compare price. Uses of this might include overlaying several stocks from the same sector to compare relative performance, or overlaying apparently unrelated instruments to look for more unusual correlations. To overlay charts Right Click inside a chart, and from the Chart menu select “Add Instrument”. The Select Instrument dialog then appears, allowing the user to select the additional instrument. The following chart shows EURGBP overlaid with EURUSD.

The charts scale in order to overlay properly irrespective of their price differences. This makes it possible to overlay two completely unrelated instruments trading at entirely different prices – for example Crude Oil trading at $138 can be overlaid with EURUSD trading at $1.57.

We decided not to create a second price axis, as it is possible to overlay up to eight instruments, although this may be added later subject to demand. Instead, as the user runs the mouse over any individual chart, the price axis changes to display the price scale for that instrument. Where several instruments are overlaid, it is sometimes easier to view them as Line charts rather than Bars or Candles. To make this change, simply alter the Chart Type from the dropdown menu on the toolbar.

Clone Chart The Clone Chart feature accessed by Right Clicking inside a chart and selecting “Clone Chart”, creates a replica of the original chart complete with studies that can then be changed to a different instrument. This means that if a user wants to create a view consisting of say, six charts, each with an RSI, Stochastic, Bollinger Bands and ADX with personal study settings, the user can now do so by adding the studies to one chart, then making five clones and simply changing the instrument of the individual clones.
