The veterans pay no cost. Each veteran needs to be agile enough to get on and off the bus by themselves. Wheelchairs are available for transport visiting the sights. Our flight left the Twin Cities April 27 from Sun Country Airlines at 5 a.m. and returned back at 10 p.m. There were 100 veterans and 62 guardians. It was a warm, sunny day in D.C. It was a day to reflect and honor others and to be aware that none of us are immortal. We are for- tunate to be alive to observe our memorials. Later when we arrived back at Hubert Humphrey Airport we were greeted by hundreds of people waving flags, play- ing bagpipes and saluting. We were indeed honored, but humbled. By the end of a “once in a lifetime” day, our memories would always need to include the inscription on the Air Force Medal of Honor Memorial, “There are those of us who would lay down our lives today, so that others could have the tomorrows.” Cliff W. According to the bill’s text its purpose is “to protect Second Amendment rights, ensure that all individuals who should be prohibited from buying a firearm are listed in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, and provide a responsible and consistent background check process.” Jean Ross, an OFA volunteer, said Congress should pass H.R. 1565 to better protect children and our communities.
