Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and
Setup
EBCM Replacement
Note: The Saturn Astra requires the use of a separate Tech 2 software version for
diagnostics and Service Programming (SPS). This version contains only support for the
Astra. The North American Tech 2 software version does not contain support for the
Astra. In order to perform programming you may be asked to "Get Security Access". The
Security Access procedure can be found on TIS2Web under the Help Function.
If the electronic brake control module (EBCM) is replaced, the following procedures must
be performed:
With a scan tool Program ECU and follow the on screen instructions.
EBCM Programming and Setup
Note: The following steps should be completed if the vehicle is equipped with RPO FX3
(StabiliTrak/Stability Control). If vehicle is equipped with RPO FX3, the yaw rate sensor
and steering angle sensor must be calibrated at this time. The Tech 2 does not prompt
to perform this calibration. Before calibration of the Yaw Rate sensor (Cluster Sensor on
Tech 2) ensure there are no EBCM DTCs set. Calibration will not complete with DTCs
set.
1. From the main Tech 2 screen, select diagnostics.

• Move steering wheel 5 degrees left or right, press Confirm key. Return the steering
wheel back to center. The sensor now calibrates and the Tech 2 should then display
"Calibration Successful".
