PEOPLE BEING CURIOUS IS HOW THINGS GET DONE.
IT’S THE SAME FOR BANKERS.Anything that ever got accomplished began with people asking: “What if?” Challenging themselves. Challenging the system. At Fifth Third Bank, “What if?” is one of our favorite phrases. As a proud supporter of the Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation, we support those who aren’t afraid to reach, try and ask.

Dear Friends:
On behalf of the Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation, NFP, and our 2012 grant recipients, the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center, the Pediatric Mood Disorders Clinic at UIC and the American Diabetes Association, I would like to welcome you to the eight annual Pumpkins For A Cure Festival in beautiful historic downtown Geneva, Illinois.
!e Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation, NFP has added many new features to our event. Harvest Taste has expanded to two categories, Sweet and Savory, and we’ve added the Trick or Trot 10K run. All these events support our mission… to support education and research related to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of chronic childhood diseases. Because every child deserves a cure.
I thank you for joining us today and contributing to the success of this special day. I hope to see you again next year at Pumpkins For A Cure Festival and at other Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation, NFP programs throughout Chicago. Remember, the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center and the Pediatric Mood Disorders Clinic at UIC are here for each of us, and can help with these personal and public health challenges facing millions of people.
Sincerely,Paul F. ZellmerPresident, Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation, NFP

Artist Charla Steele was so touched by the passion of the volunteers who work with the Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation that she became a volunteer herself – designing the 2012 logo for “Taste for a Cure.”Steele has a degree in interior design and formerly worked in architecture "rms on interior architecture. But now she’s making a name for herself as an artist. From her studio in her Nashville, Tenn., home, Steele specializes in magazine collages. She uses recycled magazine pages to create whimsical mosaics and three-dimensional artwork, ranging from a bespectacled lady with bird nests in her hair to a gorgeous sun#ower that literally bursts o$ the canvas to an apple-red, WWI biplane perfect for decorating a little boy’s room.Steele says she likes that the Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation is a “home-grown” charity. It also reminded her of the Wonderful Life Foundation, a charity created by close friends following their son’s battle with a brain tumor. Steele serves as a board member for that group.“It is so hard to see young children and families experience such di%cult situations. Children seem to tug at our heart strings,” she says. “In fact, this is how I stepped away from corporate America and began my art career. Working from my home studio has allowed me to spend time with my daughter and grow with her.”Steele says creating her artwork is an emotional release and lifts her spirits. She hopes it can do the same for others.“I love that art allows expression in a playful manner,” she says. “!e draw for me is the reward of making others smile.”For more information, visit www.charlasteele.com
Special Thanks to Charla Steele
