Welcome to worship on this festival day! Alleluia! Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia! (1 Cor. 5:7-8) Our hearts burn within us as the hope of the resurrection is proclaimed in our midst, and as Jesus appears to us at the Holy table. The core of the Christian faith is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As the crucified and risen Christ appeared to the earliest of his followers, so we experience the presence of the risen Lord in the preaching and sharing of this faith today. Today we light the Paschal Candle, which symbolizes Christ’s breaking of the darkness of sin and death to bring us all the Easter victory. The Paschal Candle will shine as our symbol of the resurrection throughout the Easter season, at all baptisms and at all funerals. Easter is proclaimed with the ancient Easter shout Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!" joyous songs, festive musical offerings and the word of God that proclaims the victory of Christ for us all. We rejoice as we bring back the “alleluia!” Thank you for joining us on this special day. We hope the blessings of the Risen Lord are yours this day and always.
A special thank you to the worship participants, choir members, guest musician, organist, Rachel Murphy, office volunteers, support, altar guild and special musicians who shared their talents in joyfully bringing forth the Easter Message. We wish Pastor Marie Bunt Godspeed as this is her last Sunday at Immanuel.
YOUNG PEOPLE'S MESSAGE Unlocking the Alleluia Box!

Follow the cross The processional cross is carried in at the beginning of the service and carried out at the conclusion of the service. All should turn to follow with their eyes. We follow Christ in to worship Him – He is with us in the midst of our situation – and we follow the Cross out to serve Him and respond to His grace and love.
All remain standing facing the Processional Cross and sing the entrance hymn.
GREETING
(boldly) Alleluia! Christ is risen!
(boldly) He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Worthy is Christ, the Lamb who was slain! Alleluia!
He gives us new life and hope through his resurrection! Alleluia!
Rejoice then, even in your distress.
We shall be counted worthy when Christ appears.
God has claimed us as his own.
God has called us from our darkness into the light of his day.
(boldly) Alleluia! Christ is risen!
(boldly) He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

PRAYER OF THE DAY
O God, you gave your only Son to suffer death on the cross for our
redemption, and by his glorious resurrection you delivered us from the
power of death. Make us die every day to sin, so that we may live with
him forever in the joy of the resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and
forever. Amen.
FIRST LESSON Acts 10:34-43 34Peter began to speak to [the people]: “I truly understand that God shows
no partiality, 35but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is
right is acceptable to him. 36You know the message he sent to the people
of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all. 37That
message spread throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism
that John announced: 38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy
Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all who
were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. 39We are witnesses to
all that he did both in Judea and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by
hanging him on a tree; 40but God raised him on the third day and allowed
him to appear, 41not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as
witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one
ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead. 43All the prophets
testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness
of sins through his name.”
The word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

SECOND LESSON 1 Corinthians 15:19-26 19If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all people most to
be pitied.
20But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of
those who have died. 21For since death came through a human being, the
resurrection of the dead has also come through a human being; 22for as all
die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ. 23But each in his own
order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father,
after he has destroyed every ruler and every authority and power. 25For he
must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy
to be destroyed is death.
The word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL Luke 24:1-12
The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke the 24th chapter.
Glory to you, O Lord. 1On the first day of the week, at early dawn, [the women] came to the tomb,
taking the spices that they had prepared. 2They found the stone rolled away
from the tomb, 3but when they went in, they did not find the body. 4While
they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood
beside them. 5The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground,
but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?
He is not here, but has risen. 6Remember how he told you, while he was still
in Galilee, 7that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be
crucified, and on the third day rise again.” 8Then they remembered his words, 9and returning from the tomb, they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest. 10Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the
other women with them who told this to the apostles. 11But these words
seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. 12But Peter got up
and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by
themselves; then he went home, amazed at what had happened.
The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ.

In different places around Westminster, there is a Soup Kitchen available at 12noon every day of the week! Seven days a week! The meal on Tuesdays is served at Grace Lutheran Church. Several times a year, there are months that have 5 Tuesdays. On that 5th Tuesday, Immanuel handles the planning, preparation and serving of the meal. Currently at Immanuel Lutheran Church there are two opportunities to request you or your loved ones be included in prayer. Each week we publish, on the last page of the bulletin, the names of individuals that have requested prayer. Also, there is a group of ladies, who will include you or your loved one in their daily personal prayers. In order to be sure that we are meeting the needs of our congregation, please call Immanuel’s church office to request either one or both of the two opportunities. The office phone number is 410-374-4463. Names remain on the church’s printed list for four weeks. At the end of the four weeks, without information to the contrary, the name will be removed. If needed, you should call the office to have the name remain or to place the individual back on our prayer list.
