Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, People of Our Lady, Mother of the Church! This is the time. This is the time when Jesus came to Jerusalem for us, to accomplish the Paschal Mystery. His glorious entrance to the Holy City with shouts of joy and welcome ‘Hosanna to the Son of David’ pretty soon turned into shouts of ‘crucify Him’. Big crowds gathered around the Messiah at the time of glory. Not many stayed with Jesus at the time of trial. Like gold is tested in fire, our love to Jesus is proved at the time
of test. This is the time to be with Jesus from the glorious entrance to the glorious morning. And of course, to be with Jesus in the Upper Room, to be with Him on the way to Calvary, to stay by the Cross, to trust God when it seems that everything was lost, to look at the empty tomb, and recognize His voice, when Jesus comes back in splendor of the Resurrection. The Holy Week, especially the Paschal Triduum, is the summit of all liturgy. We are to cele-brate not the history, we are to celebrate the mystery. What Jesus accomplished in the Paschal Mystery is given to us in liturgical action. I encourage all of you to participate in every evening of the Paschal Triduum - in the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, the Lord’s Passion on Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday. The liturgy begins on all of these three days at 7:30 p.m. In addition to these evening liturgies, there will be Stations of the Cross on Good Friday (at 1 p.m. in Polish, and at 3 p.m. in Eng-lish), and the Blessing of Easter Baskets on Holy Satur-day at noon. May God bless you! Fr. Andrew Pastor
Our Lady, Mother of the Church Mission Statement
We, the members of Our Lady, Mother of the Church, are drawn together through baptism as a part of the Body of Christ. We are a caring Catholic community, working together as instruments through which Jesus, our risen Lord and Head, continues His mission. Linked to Christ as His Body, we believe that the risen Jesus still proclaims God’s word, gives thanks and praise, welcomes, nurtures, comforts and reaches out to all people. Using the hands and hearts of the members of the parish, with a growing sense that each of us is gifted and has an important part to play in our Parish, Church and World, we renew our call: ♦ to be a Parish diligent about Word and Eucharist, the primary source of our nourishment and spiritual growth... ♦ to be “missioned” - sent forth in the person of Jesus, to bring His Word and Eucharist to family, friends, neighbors and workplace... ♦ to reach out to the sick, the homebound, the persecuted, the lonely, the poor and the bereaved… ♦ to find time to share laughter, joy, friendship, at times, tears; and always to share the goodness of each other...

Minister of Care Training There are many within our Faith community who are unable to at-tend the communal Celebration of the Eucharist. Like that of the Good Samaritan, Ministers of Care visit our homebound Parish-ioners proving a compassionate presence and listening ear and share the Sacrament of the Eu-charist. In addition, they continue to provide the homebound with the connection to the Parish by sharing a Bulletin and discussing upcoming events. If the Holy Spirit is calling you to this Ministry, formal training will be provided. This consists of five Thursday evening sessions, two hours each, at Presence St. Bene-dict Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and will begin Thursday, April 12-May 10, 2018 from 7-9pm. Contact Terri Kaisling, Faith Community Nurse, for more in-formation at 773-625-3369, Ext. 28.

Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord March 25, 2018
Novena of Divine Mercy Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet each day for nine days. St. Faustina wrote in her Diary, entry 796, “The Lord told me to say this chaplet for nine days before the Feast of Mercy. It is to begin on Good Friday. ‘By this novena, I will grant every possible grace to souls.’” The Divine Mercy Chaplet can be prayed on rosary beads. Begin with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the Apostles’ Creed. Then pray on the Our Father beads, “Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.” On the Hail Mary beads pray, “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world.” After the five decades pray three times, “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.” Each day of the novena has a different intention. On Good Friday, all mankind, especially all sinners should be brought to Jesus for His mercy. On Holy Saturday, the souls of priests and religious should be brought to Jesus for His mercy. Intentions for Easter Sunday through Saturday within the Octave of Easter will be in next week’s bulletin.
Sign Up for Eucharistic Adoration When you come to Mass on Easter, there will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex for Eucharistic Adoration on Friday within the octave of Easter, April 6. Half-hour time slots begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m., with prayer in Polish at 1 p.m. Adore Jesus Christ, who gave his life for us.
