Looking back on our celebrations of Holy Week and Easter, I am profoundly grateful for all those

parishioners who contributed so much to make them possible! Volunteers contributed greatly to the

music, the decorations, serving at the altar, making food for our gatherings, preparing our RCIA candi-

dates, serving as ushers, not to mention the generous donors who make these efforts possible! It was

truly inspiring for me to witness the faithful dedication of so many—young and old. These Easter Mys-

teries are the apex of our faith, so it is such a joy to work together for excellent liturgies at this time of

year. Personally, I would like to express my gratitude to all those who pitched in. At the same time, I

know the works of service were carried out for the greater honor and glory of God! To Him be the

praise and from Him may you receive rewards!

There have been some other important contributions to our parish life in recent weeks. First of all, a

new full set of high altar cloths have been sewn by a parishioner and donated. The three new cloths and

altar cover (vesperale) are painstakingly made and fitted just right! New patio furniture has been donated

as well. We have a new bench and table/chairs to make better use of our courtyard. Thanks to Outside

& In of Houma! After your generosity during the iGive Catholic campaign, our new liturgical items, the

Tenebrae hearse and lecterns, were the perfect addition to our ceremonies.

Also the result of the iGive Catholic fundraiser is the new niche for our Lady. The statue had been

donated about a year ago, now she has a fitting home in our church. The niche was designed by a parish-

ioner and manufactured by him using 3D printing techniques. A local artist applied the paint and mem-

bers of our parish men’s club completed the installation. Please take a moment to visit the new shrine

across from the St. Lucy statue. Be assured of my prayers for a richly blessed Easter Season!
