Lenexa, KS Moonlight Bike Ride
The Lenexa Moonlight Bike Ride was held in Lenexa, KS on Saturday, July 18,
2015 starting at 10 p.m. This event was touted as a family friendly bicycle ride at
night. Riders were on a nine-mile, closed-course, on city streets and rode
through man-made commercial caves in the city. The event ended with a
pancake breakfast. The SATERN Communications Vehicle was on hand as a
communications platform. SATERN members and friends provided
communications support to this event attended by hundreds of bicyclists.
SATERN member Steve Rainey, WDØDPB, was in charge of the amateur radio
communications effort. Steve Lester, KDØEKS, was in charge of the SATERN
Communications Vehicle.

July 26th
SATERN members and friends endure the heat to provide safety on 25, 54, 74 &
104 mile Metro KC Annual bike event.

Five hundred-forty bicycling enthusiasts skimmed the hot roadways. Forty-eight
provided SAG (Support and Gear) transportation with mostly heat and cramp
related issues to the finish line for a carbo-rich lunch.
