FROM THE PRESIDENT OF SASREG
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of SASREG and the Organising Committee, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all delegates attending our 2015 National Congress. SASREG is proud to host this landmark congress which includes all co-disciplines in our field. Delegates will include General Gynaecologists, Expert Endoscopic surgeons, Reproductive Medicine Sub-Specialists, Embryologists, Fertility Nurses, Endoscopic Theatre Nurses, Fertility Counsellors and Fertility legal experts.
This is the first time that such a multi-disciplinary congress has been orchestrated in our field. I congratulate all the members of the Organising Committee and the team from Turners Conferences, for their excellent efforts in organising this unique meeting. In addition to joining hands for the Congress, the different Special Interest Groups (SIGs) have also amalgamated into our society, making us stronger for the future.
A special thanks to Professor Thinus Kruger, our Scientific Program Chair. He meticulously selected fascinating topics and expert speakers to produce a superb educational program. I also thank Prof Carin Huyser, Dr Marie-Lena Windt and Ms Lydia Els-Smit for organising the Embryology program, Sr Karin Schwenke for the Fertility Nurses Program, Sr Carna de Bruin for the Theatre Sister’s Program and Ms Lizanne van Waart for the Counsellors program.
Dr Chris Venter and Dr Merwyn Jacobson are the local Convenors for this meeting, and I appreciate their assistance with the Investec Venue and planning of the Social Events. We are all looking forward to the party at Katy’s Palace!
We thank the trade for their generous sponsorship of this event and for their commitment to furthering our education. Our special thanks go to the premier sponsor, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, who have supported us from the concept stages of this Congress.
Please enjoy the Congress!! I hope you all return home filled with new innovative ideas, and that you will have the opportunity to cement future links with your colleagues.
With best wishes
PAUL LE ROUX: President - SASREG
