Investment over the Next 30 Years1. Adelaide’s North–South Corridor and the Road Network

Complete the strategic North‐South Corridor between Gawler and Old Noarlunga, building upon investment to date into the Gallipoli underpass, Northern Expressway, duplication of the Southern Expressway, and the South Road Superway to connect business to markets and connect our outer suburbs and growth areas

$5.6 billion

Upgrading of major traffic and freight routes, including intersection upgrades, road duplications and grade separations of rail lines to reduce urban congestion and increase safety across the network

2. Modernising and Expanding Public Transport 

Complete the electrification of the north‐south backbone of Adelaide’s public transport system, new trains, an underground rail link in the CBD, and the relocation of the Keswick passenger terminal into Adelaide Railway Station to connect our outer and middle suburbs and the CBD, and bring tourists and regional passengers into the heart of the CBD

$3.3 billion

Bringing back the trams to Adelaide by creating the AdeLINK network, including a loop in the CBD (CityLINK), to the northwest (PortLINK), to the west (WestLINK), to the south (UnleyLINK), to the east (EastLINK), and to the north (ProspectLINK) to support greater density and vibrancy in our inner and middle suburbs

Redesigning and modernising the bus network, including better access into the CBD for the O‐Bahn, bus interchanges and ‘Super Stops’, bus priority and more new buses to connect people to employment, shopping and recreation across Adelaide

3. Upgrading Regional Transport Infrastructure

Duplication of the Dukes Highway, sealing the Strzelecki Track, town bypasses, and road widening, overtaking lanes and rest areas on many major traffic and freight routes to efficiently and safely connect regional industries and communities to markets and services

Expanding ‘pit to port’ capacity, including new deep sea ports, and new and upgraded road and rail links to ports to support the mining and resources sectors and other regional industries

$6.9 billion

4. Encouraging Active Travel Choices and Sustainability

Expanded and upgraded cycling and walking networks in Adelaide and regional towns to support the vitality, healthy living and sustainability of communities
