From today's stand a look to short past anda look to ensuing future

Just to day we can think freely, fearlessly and fairly. We have no dues to pay,we have dues to recieve. Only enforced disipline, austerity in every steps of actionhelp us to have fresh breath and to land in new vigour. We gratefully owe toRamakrishna Mission Samaj Sevak Sikshan Mandir standing as a beakon-light toshow the path where to go, how to go.

It is, nevertheless, a turning point to our organisation. Herefrom, we mayhave a look to recent past to scan and scrutinize the perfomance. There are, indeeda lot of commendable work in the field of multi dimensional training programmes, mostly sponsored by the central and state Govt. Of those specially mentionableare related to PMRY, RSVY, STST & Skill Development. The training programeshave wide spectrum of varieties, such as , mushroom cultivation, bee-keeping,poultry ferming, goat keeping, fishery, horticulture-nursery, vermi-culture andcomposting, jute-deversification, tailoring, cycle repairing, so on and so forth.During last three years more than 2000 trainees have successfully gone through theprogramme and a lot of them are self-employed.

Besides, we have our perceptible presence in the field ofmicro-credit activitiesby forming self-help-groups under SGSY and bank linked SHGs, running pre-primary& primary schools, health-care services, rural sanitation, condcting spiritual& social programmes. Our all programmes are spread over in remote villages of 11districts ofWest Bengal and selected areas of Orissa. The devotion of our committedworkers and resource persons may be attributed to the success of the programmes.

In consonance with our objective we have undertaken a lot of relief workduring flood devastation in the year 2006 at Sundarban areas when our volunteerworkers stayed day and night by the side of affected people and shared their griefand groan. The Govt. officials have praised eloquently for the relentless servicesrendered by our workers there and then. This apart we have distributed text booksand others reading materials to the students belonging to backward and poorcommunities.

We have vowed to step up and spread out our social - oriented activities inyears to come in the sphere of mass education, vocational training, communityhealth, helping help-less aged people by introducing free-coaching and stipendarystudentship for deserving students, establishing text-book library, extendingmedicalhelp to the door- steps of the aged and virtually handicapped people.

But all said and done we should not suffer from smugness. We know ourweakness and our limitations. Our effort is on and ceaseless to win over ourlimitations-our over-dependence upon Govt. sponsored schemes.

We now onward shall lay stress to give shape to some comprehensive,inter-winged and intergated economic - programmes which will encompass a largenumber of families nurtured under SGSY programmes. Our own land and buildingsat Khanakul of Hooghly District and land at Herobhanga, Canning-I Block of South24 Parganas District will be the Centre of demonstration & training for a cluster ofincome generating activities and hundreds of families govened under SGSY in thevicinity of the demonstration field, after obtaining neccessary training andinfrastructural facilities, from the Centre of demonstration, do form a net-work ofsuch activities in their respective village. We will act as server of training, supplierof inputs and facilitator for linkage with Bank and marketing of products.

Similar programmes are also in the way of shaping in the areas of health-care-services, pre-primary and primary education. It is relevent to mention andrecognizable reference to reckon with that Vedanta Society, Edmonton, Canada, islending hand - in -hand cooperation in our up - bringing effort in the field ofeducation.

Let us pray to Sri Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother Sarada Devi to keepour organisation agile and afoot in the years to come in achieving vowed objectivetowards amelioration of poverty by way of opening larger opportunities for self-employment, spiritual upgradation of youth-presently dipped in frustration andwidening spheres of medical care to those who are in crying need of the same.

PrimeMinisterRojgarYojana

PMRY is a nationwide entrepreneurship development programme (EDP).Its objective is to mobilize unemployed youth forces in the country and to motivatethem to embark on entrepreneurship venture in busiess, service or small industries.

At the district level a screening committee comprising Govt. officials, Bankpersonnel, people representive, select intending candidates who are supposed tofurnish their project proposals for consideration. The selected candidates whoseproject proposals are duly vetted by the competent authority are to undertake ashort course training programme to earn eligibility for proportionate Govt. grants(20%), Bank loan (70%) against the project cost.

Our Sanstha has got the privilege to undertake such in-house trainingprogramme for 7 years in the districts of of Hooghly, Howrah , South 24parganas,Nadia,Jalpaiguri & Purulia. Our performance has earned credibility fromthe respective Govt. authorities. Hence such responsibility for carrying on the hardtask vested on us is a continuing process. It is a pleasing satisfaction for us whenwe observe that a good number of trainees after training become not only self-employed but also provide employment of a few more persons in their ventures.

We furnish hereunder an adridged statistics of the trainees passed throughin last employed years programme conducted by us.
