Founded in 1948 by R.K.Shasthry, Jayakrishna Pharmacy and Ayurvedic hospital has grown from just an out-pa�ent clinic to a hospital offering comprehensive Ayurvedic treatments. In recogni�on of his service, especially in ‘Visakachi�sa’, the hospital was given a grant-in-aid by the government. The hospital follows the tradi�onal methods of Ayurvedic treatment carried out by well qualified staff.

Our Ayurvedic Treatments

Each pa�ent’s overall health is first

assessed and we provide individualized support to get into the root of the problem.

Our treatment plans include various forms of massages, enemas, dietary modifica�ons and fas�ng under supervision. All treatments and therapies are carried out in a serene atmosphere using quality herbal products.

Our Ayurvedic treatments include :

Panchakarma – This method of treatment rejuvenates the mind and body by elimina�ng toxins from it and consists of five procedures carried out in a systema�c manner.

Njavarakizhi - Njavara or Shas�ka Shali(a variety of rice having great medicinal value)are �ed in co�on bags and massaged on the body. This method is effec�ve in strengthening the muscles.

Pizhichil - This method involves pouring lukewarm medicated oil in a specified manner. It is prescribed in the treatment of paralysis, scia�ca, osteo-arthri�s, disc prolapses, etc.

Dhara - In this method of treatment, medicated herbal oils, bu�ermilk, medicated milk, etc. are poured slowly on the forehead from a hanging vessel. This type of treatment is effec�ve for diseases of the scalp, insomania, psorisis, mental disorders, hypertension, diabetes, etc.

Swedana Therapy - It is a type of steam therapy that aids in releasing the toxins accumulated in the body.

Leech terapy, Samana Therapy and Agnikarma are other forms of treatment offered in the hospital.

About Jayakrishna Pharmacy and Hospital

R.K. Shasthry started Jayakrishna Ayurveda as an outpa�ent clinic in 1948. Educated from the pres�gious Government Ayurveda Medical College in Thiruvanthapuram, R.K Shasthry (Krishnan Vaidyar), as he was called, devoted his life for using Ayurvedic methods to alleviate the pain of the people suffering from various diseases. With degrees in Vaidyakalanidhi and Vishavaidya Visharada, he was able to treat many pa�ents who were suffering from various types of illnesses.

His dedica�on in the field of Ayurveda earned him the name “Vaidayarachan”. This tradi�on is now being carried forward by his son Dr. Sathya Rao and grandson Dr. Krishna Rao. who are fully commi�ed to making the hospital a place of healing and rejuvena�on.
