ANTI-RAGGING MOVEMENT India's National Anti-Ragging Helpline

started working in June 2009 to help students in distress due to ragging. It consists of an email id and a 24 hour toll free number. Since many ragging deaths, like Aman Kachroo's, occurred due to seniors taking a revenge of the complaint made, anonymous complaints were equally allowed at the helpline.

Within 15 minutes of receiving the complaint, it is forwarded to the Head of the institution and the local police authorities through phone and email, who take prompt action against the perpetrators of ragging.

14CONCLUSION

On the whole, the best way to stop ragging is realization by the senior himself. He should understand that by doing ragging, it is his weakness which instigates him not his strength, he is not respected but feared, he embosses bad memories than sweet moments. It is concluded and hoping that in a few years of time with our earnest effort, we all together can eradicate the social scar called ragging. We are sure a new enlighten India is waiting for us at the end of this dark tunnel.
