The fragrance of a flower spreads around as soon as it is born. Similarly, Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma of Atmakur, from the age of 12 itself, has started writing Poetry and books. Being a successor of great Scholar’s family, he has inborn merit in the fields of Veda, Vedanta and Sanskrit Grammar, etc., With grace of Goddess Saraswathi, he has authored many books in different languages and also translated many books in different languages. He has been honoured by Presidents of India, Governors, Ministers, and a large number of Scholars of different fields. Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma’s father Pandit Padmanabha Sharma was also a great scholar in Sanskrit Grammar. Pandit Padmanabha Sharma had his Upanayana done by Sri Madan Mohan Sharma, the founder of Banaras Hindu University. Many great people like Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Arnold Joseph Toynbee (Horward University Historian) visited the Vedic School “Panini MahaVidyalaya” founded by Pandit Padmanabha Sharma at Atmakur. Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma’s forefathers were residents of Maharashtra and his grandfather Sri Appa Rao was a freedom fighter. Our Great freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Bala Gangadhara Tilak, Chatterji, Annie Besant, Rabindranath Tagore used to visit Sri Appa Rao’s house at Madanapalli in Andhra Pradesh. The National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana”, written by Rabindranath Tagore and “Vande Mataram”, written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, both were written at Sri Appa Rao’s house at Madanapalli only. Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma, born in 1946, from his childhood, has studied Vedas, Vedanta, Sanskrit Grammar and many other works with Sri.Yudhishtir Ji Mimamsak of Rajasthan, Dr.Kamalapati Triphathi, Sri Udayaveera Shastry, Ramacharya Galagali, Makhdoom Hussain, and other great scholars. He also used to play with Mr.Sanjay Gandhi at Allahabad in those days. Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma, is a scholar in 12 Indian languages and also in Latin and Hebrew languages., The book “UPA SARPA MĀTARAM BHŪMIM” written by him, in Sanskrit, at the age of 12, having 200 pages, is the most important one amongst more than 60 other books authored by him. Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan has awarded him a cash prize of Rs.2,000/- for this book, along with blessing him with a foreword for this book. He has also translated more than

    with blessing him with a foreword for this book. He has also translated more than

  • 60 books into different languages. The Motherland A Hymn of Homage, a book

    written by him, has been printed for more than 20 Lakhs of copies, and

    distributed. This book was read in Parliament by the then Honorable Speaker

    Mr.G.M.C.Balayogi and about 600 copies were distributed amongst the Members

    of Parliament. Mr.Balayogi has also honored Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma with a

    letter of Appreciation. Currently he is working on his new book of about 370

    pages The National Character. He has also have a good collection of thousands

    of books at his library at Atmakur.

    Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma has been honored by many great scholars

    including, Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Sri.B.D.Jatti, Dr.Shankar Dayal Sharma,

    Sri.K.R.Narayanan, Dr.Abdul Kalam, Hansraj Bhardwaj, Smt.Indira Gandhi, Sri Rajiv

    Gandhi, Sri P.V.Narasimha Rao, and others.

    Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma has received titles like Vyakarana

    Vaachaspathi from Banaras Hindu University, Naveena Mallinatha from

    Tirupathi Pandit Sabha, Abhinava Saayanacharya from Vedic Scholars Sabha,

    Tulasi Kalpa Paadapa from Smt.Indira Gandhi, Veda Vedaanga Bhaskara from

    Dr.Shankar Dayal Sharma, and many others. He has got appreciations from many

    scholars for the lecture he has given in Sanskrit for 48 hours and 50 minutes at

    Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderbad.

    Pandit Anandathirtha Sharma strongly believes that he was able to write

    books in his childhood only with the blessings of Goddess Saraswathi and he says

    that the words of Dr.S.Radhakrishnan and other great people are his life breath.
