Poetry Club Wednesday, June 14 th • 3 pm • Great Room Celebrating poems and poets of Madagascar; also poems that involve humor. Bring something to share or come to listen. All are welcome! Le Groove Saturday, June 17 th • 7:30 pm • Dining Room Come dance the night away to the smooth sounds of Le Groove, a six-piece band of seasoned musicians. They play jazz, blues, swing and Latin music with piano, guitar, bass, horns, drums and vocals. $5 suggested donation. Outings Club Event: Spring Pond Bog Tuesday, June 27 th • 9:30 am Field Trip to Tupper Lake, NY We’ll have brunch at the Main Street Restaurant in Tupper Lake ($4.95 & up). Then we’ll head off into the woods for a visit to the Nature Conservancy’s Spring Pond Bog. Naturalist Peter O’Shea will show us pitcher plants, orchids and a variety of birds. Call 518-891-7117 to make a reservation. In Praise of Quiet Waters Thursday, June 29 th • 7 pm • Great Room Author and adventurer Lorraine Duvall will speak about the history of the waters of the Adirondacks and her discovery of the majesty of paddling on those lakes, ponds and rivers for the past 25 years.
