It has recently become a favourite in other parts of the world. Restaurants in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand are increasingly offering Limoncello on their beverage and dessert menus. PRODUCTION Italy is the world’s largest producer of lemons so, naturally, Italians have developed a delicious way to use the plentiful fruit. Lemon zest, (peels without the pith), is steeped in grain alcohol until the oil is released. The resulting yellow liquid is then mixed with a simple syrup. No artificial flavours or colours are added to Santa Marta Limoncello.
