You should be able to log in after a day or so.

Logging InTo log in, follow these steps:

1. Go to http://cdc.vivademocracy.com; enter your username and password on the left:.

2. Click Login.

To log out at any time, click Logout on the left.

Selecting Your Walk ListThese instructions tell how to select your walk list, which lists all the registered voters in your precinct. You also have the option of selecting individual streets in the precinct. Once you select your walk list, no one else has access to that precinct or those streets.

Although the walk list shows every voter in your precinct, you are knocking only on the doors of registered Democrats and independents (decline to state: D/S) and visiting houses where voters need to be registered. See “Walking Your Precinct” in the Precinct Walking Instructions for Precinct Captains and Walkers for clarification if necessary.

Precincting City Lead Instructions 5 CONFIDENTIAL

A list of all streets in your precinct appears.

You have two options:

• To take ownership of the entire precinct, click the checkbox at the left of every street name.

• To take ownership of individual streets, click those checkboxes. Clicking a street gives you all the voters on the street in that precinct.

Note: Once you click Get Walklist at the bottom, no one else has access to these streets.

6. When your selection is the way you want it, click Get Walklist.

Printing Your Walk ListAfter selecting streets and clicking Get Walklist, a screen appears showing the script. You have a one-page printed version of this script and also a fully commented version in Precinct Walking Instructions for Precinct Captains and Walkers.

Note: The walk lists print with only about ten names per sheet. We recommend using recycled or scrap paper.

To print the walk list, follow these steps:

1. Scroll down past the script to the printer icon.

2. Click the blue text to the right of the printer icon. The software opens another browser window in which your walk list will appear.

Note: Loading the walk list takes quite a while, particularly for full precincts.

3. In the browser window that shows the list, go to File at the top left of your browser, and click Print....

Entering DataEnter data after every time you walk to keep the information up to date. If you have not-homes, you’ll be able to update the information if you go back another day and talk with these voters.

To enter the data you have gathered walking your precinct, follow these steps:

1. Log in and access the Canvass Door-to-Door screen in the Activity Center. The page showing the script appears.

2. Scroll down past the script to where the records of voters begin:

3. Enter the knock result: click the arrow at the right of Knock Result and select the result that corresponds to the code you circled when you walked, such as Spoke to target if you circled ST, Moved if you circled MV, and so on.

Continue selecting the rest of the results for this voter from the pulldown lists at each question. If you selected anything other than Spoke to target or Spoke to housemate, of course you do not enter any other results for this voter.

This table matches codes on the walk list with choices in the software.

4. Enter data for all the other voters you have contacted.

Reporting Problems and Getting HelpIf you are unable to finish your precinct for any reason, contact your city lead immediately. The city lead can reassign your precinct to another volunteer, who will be given the username and password you furnish to the city lead.

If you’re having problems with the software, contact your tech helper; your city lead, or the county leads (Carolyn in the north, Rudi and Linda in the south).
