CLINIC PURPOSE & TARGET AUDIENCE This clinic is designed to provide current, science-based information to professionals with an interest in strength and conditioning or athletic enhancement and will feature national, regional and local speakers recognized in the area of sports performance.

The target audience includes strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, exercise physiologists, personal trainers, coaches, physical education teachers and other professionals working with active populations.

FACULTYROBERT DOS REMEDIOS, MA, CSCS, MSCCNIKE Master Trainer, Kinesiology/Physical Education Professor College of the Canyons, Santa Clarita, CA

Robert (Coach Dos) has been involved in strength and conditioning for over 25 years. He has a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Biomechanics, from California State, Northridge and has been an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) since 1990. Coach Dos is currently Professor of Kinesiology at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, CA. In 2006, he was the recipient of the National Strength and Conditioning Association‘s prestigious Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year award. Coach Dos is a Master Strength & Conditioning Coach as recognized by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) and is a NIKE Master Trainer and Consultant.

JOSH HENKIN, BS, CSCS, CEO DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training, Las Vegas, NV

Josh has been in the fitness and performance industry for 20 years. Having owned his owntraining facility and teaching in over thirteen countries worldwide, Josh has an extensive background infunctional fitness, post-rehabilitation, and sports performance. Coach Henkin has written over a 100 articles on these topics and has seen his works published in over fifteen mainstream magazines. His work has also attracted the tactical community having been commissioned to develop specific programs for U.S. Army Special Forces Recruiting Battalion as well as the U.S. Marine HITT program.

CHRIS KORFIST, MSEDSpeed Expert and Sprint Coach, Owner of Slow Guy Speed School, Burr Ridge, IL

Chris has been coaching track for 25 years in Illinois. He has coached high school football and track at Hinsdale Central, Downers Grove North, York and Montini High Schools, producing 68 all-state track athletes, three individual state champions, two team state champions, three 2nd place team finishes, and two 3rd place finishes. His sprint relays at York High School have run some of the fastest times in the history of the state of Illinois. He owns the Slow Guy Speed School which is a gym that focuses on running and athletic development and co-owns Track and Football Consortium and Reflexive Performance. Chris currently writes for Simplifaster, co-authored Triphasic Football with Cal Dietz, and speaks frequently throughout the Midwest at various clinics.

SHERRI NORDSTROM STASTNY, PHD, RD, CSSD, LRDAssociate Professor, Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences, North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND

Sherri is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences at North Dakota State University. She has been a full-time member of the dietetics faculty at NDSU since 2002. She has developed and led research studies and classes in sports nutrition, and all aspects of foodservice management for over a decade. Dr. Stastny is a gerontologist and studies nutrition as it related to healthy aging in the Human Performance Lab. She has led workshops for dietetic associations, coaching and other professional groups, college residence life groups, physician groups, retirement communities, and college faculty. The ability to apply everyday foods, snacks, and beverages to the most current nutrition strategies is emphasized as are the use of whole, local, non-processed foods whenever practical. Sherri is active in 10K races, bicycle commuting, and skiing when life allows it.

SCOTT BROWN, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, CERT. DNPhysical Therapist Specialist, Sanford POWER Center, Sanford Health, Fargo, ND

Scott graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2007 and began his career in Fargo, ND seeking to improve the quality of care for spinal conditions including neck and low back pain. In 2011, he became

an Orthopedic Certified Specialists and in 2015 became a Sports Certified Specialist as issued by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. When joining the Sanford Power Center in 2012, he shifted his attention to spinal conditions in young athletes. He is currently involved in several research projects regarding athletic low back pain. He added dry needling to his skill set in 2015 and became certified to treat throughout the musculoskeletal system using this treatment method. He believes in a multimodal approach to treating low back pain including spinal manipulation, dry needling, therapeutic exercise, training modifications, and education.

COLIN BOND, MSClinical Biomechanist, Sanford Sports Science Institute – Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Fargo, ND

Colin is the Clinical Biomechanist for the Sanford Sports Science Institute in Fargo, ND. He obtained a B.S. in Kinesiology – Exercise Science from Towson University in Towson, MD. Following Towson, he obtained a M.S. in Kinesiology- Exercise Science from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in Durham, NH. Colin is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.
