Gym Class descriptions
Lower limb group-max of 8 in a group
A circuit based exercise class for individuals to improve movement, strength, stability and balance for a wide variety of lower limb conditions. The aim is for the individual to complete and continue exercises at home. Patients will be reviewed at regular intervals to ensure progress is being made.
Normally 6 sessions
Shoulder group -max of 8 in a group
A circuit based exercises class for individuals to help restore functional movement, strengthen and stabilise around the shoulder whilst hoping to reduce pain symptoms. The aim is for the individual to complete and continue exercises at home. Patients will be reviewed at regular intervals to ensure progress is being made.
Normally 6 sessions
Spinal rehab group -max of 8 in a group
A Pilates based exercise class that concentrates on strengthening core and gluteal muscles to help support our lower back. The aim is for the individual to complete and continue exercises at home.

Back active
Our brand new rehabilitation group for people with back pain. It is based on new up to date evidence to educate and rehabilitate a wide variety of lower back conditions. The group involves half an hour of education followed by an hour of exercise. Patients must complete all 6 sessions to get maximum benefit from education and exercise.
In addition to the above classes we do have individual slots which are allocated to patient as appropriate. Your physiotherapist will have assessed and advised if this is appropriate.
Gym Rules
Please bring any medication that you may require with you. For example please bring your inhalers or GTN spray.
Please dress appropriately for the gym environment in comfortable gym wear and foot wear. If you arrive dressed inappropriately you will be turned away from the gym for your own safety.
You may wish to bring water and a small hand towel. Unfortunately we may not be able to see you if you attend with children who cannot be
supervised by another adult, unless the child in question has an appointment with the physiotherapist.
Please be aware that there will be equipment in the gym that you may or may not be required to use, as exercises are issued on an individual basis.
Any equipment that you will use, you will have instructions on how to use correctly and safely.
It is expected for you to be compliant with an individual home exercise programme alongside your rehab within the gym. This will be prescribed by your physiotherapist.

sandalsWear t-shirt/shorts/tracksuit bottoms Wear loose scarves/floaty tops or bottoms/

Cancellation- If you are unable to make your appointment please call to inform us on the below number. Your appointment can be rearranged at a time that is more suitable.
Non-attendance - If you do not ring to cancel and don’t show for your appointment it will be classed as a non-attendance. If you have 2 non attended appointments without contacting us to let us know, your future appointments will automatically be cancelled and you will be discharged. You will have to refer back into our service.
Lateness policy- If you are late to your appointment, unfortunately you may not be able to be seen and an appointment will be rearranged. Please allow time for parking.
