years ago today, in Cape Town, whilst lazing in a bath, I “conceived”Baba Indaba!

Being a new mum with plenty of questions and not too many answers, I had the vision to start a Baby Show sharing baby information and making products easily available to all parents and parents-2-be of South Africa. It has been an incredible journey and a most rewarding experience.

Our company experienced rapid growth over the years, and with the immense support of SABC Education, we have grown a solid, most respected and admired brand in the baby and parenting market. I’ve been told many times, that Baba Indaba!, rolls off the tongue and makes folk feel emotional and giddy with love and excitement – a most fantastic brand association.

SABC Education Baba Indaba has won multiple awards, and has assisted many brands to establish itself within the baby category. We have been fortunate to experience the launch of new products and brands as well as enjoy established international brands fi nd a foothold in South Africa.

Our very loyal clients have been pertinent to our success and we are incredibly appreciative of your support. Thank you for believing in the brand.

Our Takalani Sesame Muppets are also part of the SABC Education Baba Indaba; they will perform live on stage where little ones can experience happy, unforgettable meetings with the beloved Muppets.

While entertaining the children the Muppets share fun educational numeracy, literacy and life skills messages. The Muppets interact with the little ones and invite them to participate in activities on stage. Yet our thinking and ambitions were completely different. Fast forward a few years into my life, add in a failed marriage and a daughter without a father. I had a million questions that needed answering, including what a good parent looked like. Thus started my research which led me to the human brain – where everything about us stem from. 12 years

later, with over 40 years of life experience and a 16 year old daughter, I knew that I had to share my story. Both my failures and my successes.
