ANOTHER ONE: The Dodgers opened their three-game weekend set

against the Giants last night with a 6-4 come-from-behind victory, recording

their second consecutive comeback win and their 30th of the season. Los

Angeles, which has won six consecutive games, recorded its fifth six-plus

game winning streak this year and according to Stats LLC., it is tied for the

third most in franchise history, most recently coming in the 2006 season.

The club also won their 50th consecutive game when leading at any point,

extending their Major League record. Following the weekend set against

their National League West rivals and a travel day on Monday, the Boys in

Blue will begin a nine-game road trip to Atlanta, New York and Arizona.

The 13.0-game lead in the NL West represents the Dodgers’

longest since also being 13.0 games up after play on Sept. 10, 2013

over the Rockies.

The Dodgers own the best record in baseball with a 72-31 (.699)

mark, 3.5 games better than the Houston Astros, and hold the best

finished the season going 102-60.

The Dodgers have won 37 of 43 since June 7, which is the best 43-

game stretch in franchise history since the 1899 Brooklyn

Superbas ripped off 37 of 43 from May 1-June 22. It is also the

best 43-game span in baseball since the 1942 St. Louis Cardinals,

who also went 37-6. Since June 7, the Dodgers have been truly

Stadium since June 7 and are a big league best 45-13 (.776) at

home, historically outpacing all but the ‘53 Dodgers (60-17, .779)

in franchise lore. According to Stats LLC., the Dodgers’ 24-3

stretch at home is the best since 1900.

The Dodgers 21-8 day game record is currently the best mark in

the Majors and the .724 winning percentage ranks third best in

Dodger history (since 1913), just behind the 1953 and 1955

Brooklyn Dodgers.

The Dodgers’ +183 run differential is the best in the Major

Leagues, eight runs better than the Astros.

KING OF THE HILL: Dodger left-hander Rich Hill will make his 15th

start of the season this afternoon against the Giants as he looks to record his

eighth win of the year. Hill last pitched on Saturday against the Braves,

allowing just two runs on six hits in 6.1 innings with eight strikeouts as he

recorded the win in the Dodgers’ 6-2 victory. In four games during the month

of July, the southpaw has gone 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA (4 ER/25.1 IP) and has

seventh for his 17th and 18th longballs of the season. The reigning National
