Know the FoeBYU enters the week on a 12-game winning streak, with wins in 18 of its last 19 games, and a 9-0 record at home. The Cougars are paced by senior guard and back-to-back WCC Player of the Week Lexi Eaton Rydalch. She is averaging 24.7 points per game on .452 shooting to lead a trio of double digit scorers (Makenzi Morrison Pulsipher - 12.5 ppg, Kalani Purcell -11.0 ppg, 12.5 rpg).

Sitting atop the WCC standings, the Cougars are receiving votes in the latest AP and USAToday polls.

What 2 Watch 4BYU senior All-American Lexi Rydalch remains fourth among active Division I scoring leaders (2,330 points). Rydalch is in the top 10 in multiple active career offensive categories, including games(133/4th),fieldgoals(787/7th),fieldgoalattempts (1,817/4th), free throws (551/2nd) and free throw attempts (728/2nd).

Rydalch became the fourth WCC student-athlete to crack 2,000 career points in the WCC opener at San Diego and recently surpassed Loyola Marymount’s Alex Cowling (2008-13; 2,219 points) as the WCC women’s basketball all-time leading scorer. With 2,330 career points, she is 161 shy of passing Hank Gathers (LMU) as the WCC all-time leader regardless of gender.

Series SnippitsThe Cougars have the 13-2 edge in the all-time series, with the Dons’ wins coming on Feb. 16, 2012 in Provo, a 71-64 victory over then No. 23 BYU, and a 65-56 home victory on Jan. 26, 2013. In addition to the regular season series, the Dons are 0-1 against the Cougars in the post-season, after BYU took the 76-65 win in last year’s WCC Championshipfinal.

Last Time OutA cold start on the Hilltop doomed the Dons in a heartbreaking 59-57 loss to the Santa Clara Broncos at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.

The Dons led by three points with 3:10 left in the fourthquarter, butdidn’tscoreanotherfieldgoalinthefinalminutesofthegame.Thecombinationof missed shots and four turnovers against an ag-gressive Broncos defense in the closing minutes

of the game proved costly as they couldn’t hang on to the slim advantage.

Senior Zhane Dikes led the Dons with a team-high12pointsalongwithfivereboundsandfour steals, but missed a three with time running out that would have given USF a lead with just seconds left. Rachel Howard added 10 points on 4-of-6shooting,andAnnaSeilundfinishedwitheight points, six rebounds and four assists for USF.

A Decade in the MakingOn a day when USF honored its 1996 Sweet 16 team, the 2015-16 San Francisco women’s basketball team made a place for themselves in program history as well. The Dons scored the firstbucketofthegameandnevertrailedtoearna big 71-52 win over the Bulldogs on Jan. 30.

Triple ThreatEven with a tepid outing against Santa Clara in its last contest, USF is shooting .359 from long range on the season, good for 27th in the NCAA after a blazing hot weekend from outside. The Dons enjoyed a blazing hot weekend from the outsideagainstitsfoesfromthePacificNorth-west, going 23-of-42 (.548) from distance while picking up a pair of wins.

Albeit a small sample size, in freshman Jaylin Jones’ seven games of action, her true shooting percent-age comes in at 103.6 percent, as she had her firstmissesoftheseasoninUSF’sgameagainstSanta Clara (4-5 fg, 3-4 3fg, 3-4 ft).

USF Record-SettersThe senior duo of Taylor Proctor and Zhane Dikes both grace USF’s 1,000-point scoring list of 21 women as well as the 20-member 500-re-bound club. Dikes notched her 500th rebound in USF’sfinalnon-conferencegameoftheseasonagainst San Francisco State.

Along with her distinction on the points and rebounds lists, Dikes became the USF all-time leader in minutes played in USF’s game at Santa Clara on Jan. 23. She is averaging more than 33 minutes per game in her career wearing Green and Gold, and passed Rheina Ale (‘08-12 - 3,755 minutes) and men’s minutes leader Angelo Caloiaro (‘08-12 - 3,781 minutes) to earn the new school record.

Proctor leapt to fourth in all-time scoring in USF’s victory over Gonzaga and she stands in third in rebounds, currently.Sheisoneoffivewomentorate in the top-10 in both categories. Individually, Rachel Howard etched her name in the record books after swishing seven 3-pointers at Long Beach State. The seven triple mark in a game ties Andrea Kagie (at San Diego, 02/08/97) and Amy Touli (Northwestern State, 12/19/92).

30 for No. 32Taylor Proctor has notched two 30-point games thus far in the 2015-16 campaign. Against Utah Valley on Nov. 23, she recorded a career-high 39 points. Her tally stands tied as the second-best single game performance in school history even with USF Hall of Famer Mary Hile-Nepfel’s mark against Pepperdine in 1979, and three points shy of Teri Hunt’s 42 points against San Diego on Jan. 31, 1987.

On Dec. 4 in the Dons’ victory against UC River-side, she went off for 32 points to lead the squad. In well over 1,000 games played in the history of the program, the 30-point mark has only been eclipsed 36 times, and Proctor is one of seven women to record multiple 30-point games.
