COMMUTE TIMES
In order to understand the traffic and commute times in the area, we would like to provide you with a brief overview of the South Bay Area.
The southern region of the San Francisco Bay Area is known as Silicon Valley. Cities include San Jose, the high-tech hubs of Santa Clara, Milpitas, Cupertino, Sunnyvale as well as many other cities like Sara- toga, Campbell, Los Gatos and the exurbs of Morgan Hill and Gilroy. The population of the entire valley has about 2 million residents. San Jose is the tenth most populous city in the United States and the most populous city in the Bay Area.
Due to the dense population, commute times change drastically throughout the day and you can expect to be in your car a while during peak commute hours. We have labeled some of the communities that are popular amongst our staff.

LEVI’S® STADIUM
The Bay Area is a consistent leader in innovation. Hosting the premier outdoor sports and enter- tainment venue in the world that incorporates groundbreaking in-stadium technology, adds an-other industry that has been greatly influenced by the innovation of our region. In the past de- cade, the home-viewing experience has become so ex-ceptional that many argue it is a more attrac- tive option than attending a live sporting event.Imagine a stadium that combines the comforts of home while also providing a forum to connectwith 68,500 people in real time. Levi’s Stadium has set to change the dynamic of live sporting events as we know it, while uniting the Bay Area in the region in the process.
A smarter stadium was bound to happen. Levi’s Stadium captures the best technology found in the Silicon Valley by allowing fans to create their own experience inside its friendly confines. Instead of focusing on hardware that will become obsolete over time, Levi’s Stadium leverages the brilliant companies who create personal mobile devices for our customers, such as tablets and smartphones. The focus is on ensuring that fans have full con- nectivity inside the stadium, providing them the unique ability to get inside the game like no other venue allows. The best fans in the world expecta stadium to provide a ticketless and cashless experience with unique content and camera views available on their own handheld devices. That’s why the 49ers have hired the best and brightest minds to redefine the in-game viewing experience.
Innovation doesn’t stop with the fan experience. Levi’s Stadium is functionally green: the first sta-dium in North America designed to be net neutral to the grid. That means the 49ers 10 home games are completely powered by the sun, from the ven- ue’s year-round collection of solar power, allowing it to become the first professional football stadium with LEED Gold Certification for New Construc-tion. Food service brings together all the great aspects of Northern California culinary culture. There is an emphasis on locally grown, organic, seasonal and sustainable food.
An interactive museum highlighting 49ers history and tradition also serves as an educational hub that teaches students how the stadium functions from a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) perspective, while also highlighting the great history of the Bay Area. Levi’s Stadium sets a new standard for the in-stadium fan experience.
Levi’s Stadium is built off of a legacy of innova- tion founded in the Bay Area. No longer is “good enough” an option for live sports. Levi’s Stadium changes the game internationally, becoming the next innovation to commence right here in the Bay Area.

TEAM HISTORY
WELCOME TO THE 5-TIME SUPER BOWL CHAMPION 49ERS
When you enter the main lobby of 4949 Marie P. DeBartolo Way, you are reminded by five Lombardi Trophies that you are a valuable part of a team that is one of the most successful in all of professional sports. The San Francisco 49ers are a proud and storied franchise that has achieved excellence both on and off the field. The “Team of the 80’s,” led by Hall-of-Fame Coach Bill Walsh, brought three champion-ships to San Francisco before he passed the reigns to George Seifert, who led the team to a rare cham-pionship repeat and added a fifth title a few years later. The York family has directed us to new heights in our community and our industry which is exemplified by the creation of Levi’s® Stadium. The goal of our organization, and the goal of each employee, is to win a sixth world championship whilefielding the classiest franchise in the NFL.
A HISTORY LESSON
Anthony J. Morabito dedicated his life to bringing an idea to fruition that others thought was preposter-ous. After seeing the success and fan following that college football had garnered, Morabito trusted his instincts and agreed to form an All-American Football Conference franchise in San Francisco in 1944. Morabito teamed with his younger brother, Victor, and partners in the Lumber Terminals of San Francis-co, Allen E. Sorrell and E.J. Turre, to create the team and came up with the name “49ers” in honor of the miners who had rushed west for gold. In 1950, the AAFC folded and San Francisco, along with Baltimore and Cleveland, were awarded NFL franchises. The 49ers became the first major league professional sports franchise to be based in San Francisco. For 25 seasons (1946- 1970), Kezar Stadium, located on the southeast end of Golden Gate Park, was the backdrop that illuminated the tradition of the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers made Candlestick Park their new home in 1971 and remained at the storied venue through the 2013 season. During that 43- year relationship, countless memories were made at The Stick including one of the most famous moments in NFL history, “The Catch.” In the end, the venue hosted 225 combined victories, 27 postseason contests (20 wins) and played home to five Super Bowl Championship teams.
2014 marked the start of the next chapter in 49ers history as the team played its inaugural season at Levi's® Stadium in Santa Clara. The new stadium is a showcase for innovative technology and sustain-ability that will usher in the next generation of outdoor sports and entertainment venues.

TEAM HISTORY
STRONG AND COMMITTED OWNERSHIP
Since the franchise’s inception, strong leadership has been integral to its success. Edward DeBartolo Sr. built a real-estate empire comprised of 88 shopping centers, three thoroughbred racetracks, and three professional sports teams before purchasing the 49ers in 1977. His son, Eddie DeBartolo Jr., was given control of the 49ers and his daughter, Denise DeBartolo, took over the Pittsburgh Penguins. DeBartolo Jr. led the team to five Super Bowls while Denise became one of 12 women to have her name engraved on the Stanley Cup. In 2000, Denise and her husband John York assumed control of the 49ers, and their son, Jed York, later took over the day-to-day operations of the team and currently serves as CEO of the organization.
CHAMPIONSHIP LEGACY
The 49ers impressive winning legacy includes 19 divisional championships, six conference titles and five Super Bowl Championships (1981, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1994). Since 1980, San Francisco has tallied more Super Bowl victories (5), division titles (16) and playoff appearances (21) than any other NFL team. Throughout the years, members of the 49ers organization have garnered some of the sport’s most prestigious honors, including five AP NFL Most Valuable Player awards, two AP NFL Coach of the Year awards and 22 Pro Football Hall of Fame selections.
STRONG COMMUNITY LEGACY
In addition to being champions on the field, the 49ers strive to be champions in the community. The San Francisco 49ers Foundation is the non-profit community funding extension of the San Francisco 49ers.The 49ers Foundation harnesses football to educate and empower Bay Area Youth through a collective of innovative and community-focused strategies. From award-winning STEAM education and nationally recognized youth football programs, to impactful community partnerships with leading non-profits, we are tirelessly dedicated to inspiring the confidence and collaboration our youth need to tackle what is possible.
THE FAITHFUL
The 49ers Faithful fan base extends throughout the world. Built on the foundation of a storied past, great players, innovative coaches and World Championships, the San Francisco 49ers represent success. Just as Levi’s® Stadium has come to life, so will the endless opportunities we are now presented with, both on and off the field. As an employee of the 49ers you have the opportunity to contribute to and enhance the legacy of our proud franchise. No matter how we each contribute, it is important to note that we are all part of the same team, past and present, and we will all share in the glory when we bring home a sixth Lombardi Trophy. We win with class, we work with class … The 49er Way.

HALL OF FAME
The San Francisco 49ers are arguably one of the most fabled sports franchises in history. With the multi-tude of memories that the team’s history holds, a place to honor and capture these tremendous times and legendary figures only seems appropriate.
During the 2009 offseason, the San Francisco 49ers and the York family proudly introduced the creation of the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. 49ers Hall of Fame, named in honor of the beloved patriarch of the storied franchise. The 49ers Hall of Fame was established to recognize players, administrators and coaches who have made exceptional contributions to the organization.
A week after the creation of the new 49ers Hall of Fame, team President & CEO Jed York announced the name of its inaugural inductee, his uncle, Edward J. DeBartolo Jr., known as “Mr. D” to most close to the 49ers family. He was then officially inducted during halftime of the team’s home opener versus the Seattle Seahawks on September 20, 2009.
Being inducted into the 49ers Hall of Fame is no easy task, and the selection process reflects the level of honor which it bestows. As a prerequisite for induction, all 49ers Hall of Fame candidates must have displayed one or more of the following qualifications: outstanding production and performance on the field, key contributions to the team’s success, and/or the embodiment of the spirit and essence of the San Francisco 49ers.
A number of players and coaches have already been recognized in various ways throughout the years for their contributions to the game of professional football and the 49ers organization. Accordingly, the fran-chise has automatically enshrined members of the 49ers family who have either had their jersey numbers already retired by the organization or have been selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. These players include: John Brodie, Dwight Clark, Fred Dean, Jimmy Johnson, John Henry Johnson, Charlie Krueger, Ronnie Lott, Hugh McElhenny, Joe Montana, Leo Nomellini, Joe Perry, Bob St. Clair, Y.A. Tittle, Bill Walsh, Dave Wilcox and Steve Young.
During Alumni Weekend on October 11, 2009 against the Atlanta Falcons, the 49ers honored the automatic enshrinement of the above players during halftime of the game.
The 49ers organization will enshrine new members each season.
