Hello, everyone!

Welcome to Elijah Rock! I am so excited to be bringing you the new non-seasonal musical from Pam Andrews Music. I have been dreaming of this musical for a long time so it is especially wonderful to finally be bringing it to you.

Elijah Rock tells the story of courage and strength that we all need to hear during these difficult times. Elijah had to tell his government, King Ahab and !"##$%&#'#(#)*%+,-+%+,#.%/#0#%$1+%213$4%+,#%034,+%+,3$45+,#.%/#0#%$1+%1(#.3$4%God. The Israelites were worshipping Baal, a false god. They justified their behavior by saying they served both Baal and the Almighty God. Elijah knew that the people would face the wrath of God if they did not turn away from their sin. But, the people would not listen so a time of drought came upon the land. Elijah found a cave and went into hiding. While there, he received food from the birds and from a widow and her son. The day finally came that Elijah went back to meet with King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. He offered to participate in a 6,-))#$4#57)38-,%-$2%+,#%9019,#+:%1;%<--)%/1")2%(1+,%("3)2%-$%-)+-0=%>,#%prophets of Baal would pray to their god and Elijah would pray to the Almighty God to light their fire. The prophets prayed and prayed, but nothing happened. Then, after pouring water on the altar, Elijah prayed and the fire was ignited. In fact, the fire was so hot that it even burnt the altar. The faith that Elijah showed in ?12%-$2%,3:%61"0-4#%+1%:+-$2%;10%034,+%/-:%:1%-@-'3$45-%40#-+%:+10.%+,-+%A32:%and adults need to hear today.

Elijah Rock is not difficult. In fact, I helped direct a premier choir of this musical in Gastonia, North Carolina this past summer. 150 children learned the entire musical in four days. You will hear the cast from the Greater Gaston Baptist Association performance on your listening CD.

You will find harmony in Elijah Rock. I am a strong believer of teaching harmony to children. We want to get them ready for what is coming in their music life. BUT, the harmonies are ostinato patterns, which are repeating chants or melodies. You will also love the songs. THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN!

One more thing, I always want to thank John DeVries for his genius. John and Ramelle, his wife, are both great friends and do so much to make Pam Andrews Music happen every day. THANKS TO YOU BOTH.
