Since last issue, attentive readers should notice that, Sameway magazine is thicker, while the contents have also increased. In Melbourne, we are currently promoting the Mel dish , a special food issue to introduce the specialties of different Melbourne restaurants for our readers, therefore we have increased the magazine to 80 pages, and there are more coloured pages as well as more information.
Many people have been asking me, are Sameway well run, and wanted to earn more? Seven years ago, the reason we established Sameway was simply because, we had the hope that all the Chinese immigrants in Australia would be able to have a high quality Chinese community magazine to enrich the community life, broaden their horizons, and hence, build a better life. Until now, we are still working hard to achieve this goal, to bring the blessing to the community, as this is the vision what we had received from God. While three years ago, acting upon faith, Sameway got to deliver to the major cities in east coast, we hope that God will be giving us greater challenge, letting the circulation of Sameway improve once again, and give us resources to enhance the quality of contents.
Till now, we are still working hard and hope to reach the break-even point, I would like to thanks all the supports from friends who pray for us regularly, individuals dedication, as well as people who volunteering write or provide supports for us. I have never seen Sameway as an organization or individual enterprise, but instead, I only see Sameway as a platform for Chinese community to get together. I hope, and welcome more people to participate in the development of Sameway this dream.
I have got a colleague who is also working as a part-time real estate agent, he said to me that, if his business is successful, he will be dedicated to support Sameway , as he found out that the establishment of
Sameway has been playing a positive role in the Chinese community, that is how the Church and the Christian put their faith into practice precisely. Lots of people only see the Christian preach the gospels eagerly, and since
Sameway is published by a Christian organization, people will then have the assumption that, the magazine must be a publication to advise and preach the religious beliefs. While in fact, other then preaching the gospels, Christian is also keen on putting faith into practice, serve the community, as the Bible teaches as, make salt and light, love people and God .
We need, and we welcome more people to participate in the development of Sameway this dream, please contact me if you can write articles, do translation, interviews or simply just work as a volunteer for us. If you are a businessman, in order to support our publishing expenses, you can consider placing advertisements, or even introduce Sameway to friends who would like to place advertisements. You can also be a subscriber of
Sameway , or expressing your concern by ordering our magazine for your friends who live in rural areas.
Last week we have published and introduced the special issue for Centenary of the Republic of China , we have received queries from
readers who live outside Melbourne, hope readers will be patient and look forward for more updated news, as we will be setting up distribution points
for the special issue in different cities in the future.
