An exploration of the space between spaces, limbo. This led me onto photo-graphing the gap between where a train platform ends and the grass area starts, my own personal take on limbo.

Film demonstrating the essence of the reed pen. We bought new pens and the fi rst thing we did was just draw loads of dicks and profanities. We then drew a comparison between how the reed pen hasn’t changed, and neither have men. Tying in both old and modern times too showed the timelessness of it.

Working with Jack Beveridge and Josh Lake, the brief was to create a zine based around the idea of ‘Dinosaurs’. We focused on the idea of fossils, and how fossils are classifi ed as imprints of life on an environment. We set out to redefi ne fossils in a more modern situation. We based our zine around the theme of ‘2am’. We thought it was interesting to focus our zine around imprints that people leave, such as vomit and food, at a time where people cannot remember the event themselves.

Everyones work was then displayed at our Zine Fair called ‘Pop!’. It was hung from balloons which summed up how playful our year group is. The event itself was a huge success too and was alot of fun for everyone involved.

Self Initiated project, based around the idea of positive visualisation and mind over matter. After researching heavily into the idea, I decided I wanted to atttempt something I never had done before. So I attempted a backfl ip. It didn’t end that well.

Response to the Mother of All project. After discussing many ideas, we noticed that Charlie had come in hungover for the fi rst two days. So we decided to create the Mother of All Hangover Cures, which included traditional and more unorthodox methods, as listed on the left, we tested him before and after to see if it had worked with how many dominoes he could stand up in 10 seconds. It succeeded, with him doubling how many he put up.

Submerged in wet sand up to his neck, Bloody Mary, Black Coffee, Bacon Sandwich, Pickle Juice, McDonalds Coke, Oatmeal, Scalp Stimulation, Raw Egg with Salt and Pepper, Orange Juice, Fresh Air, Lemons under armpits, Honeywater, Marmite, Vegetable Oil, Chilli con Carne, Chocolate Milk, Ginger Powder, Rabbit dropping Tea, Dandelion leaves, Hot and Cold Spray, Exercise, Lick and spit sweat.

Arenaelamiaology is the study of sandwiches, but more specifi cally we are a group of people aiming to introduce people to more creative sandwich combinations. To do this we created the Sandwich Elements Table, where we have taken away names of ingredients, so people are forced to ‘guess’ and eat these interesting sandwiches, creating new found love or hate for the food.

Working with John Ingle, we wanted to explore the route of a aural crash rather than a visual crash. We decided that without sound, a crash is not a crash, it is a collision. We attempted to create a chain reaction machine, but we isolated the audience away from it so they only heard the crescendo of noise the machine created. The entire machine was started by someone calling my phone which fell into a cup, we wanted to show how crashes are normally started from the smallest things.

A strict typographic animation project. After being given the Croatian word for avalanche, we were told to create a 10 second animation to represent the word. We wanted to use white on white to show a subtle, yet overfl owing mass, with the only defi nition being from shadow and the trees moving in the distance. Also done using multiple layers of perspex to create depth.

A rigorously strict brief about Georgia and the typographic term Set Solid, we created a cult called the Set Solidists. Set Solid text reduces 20% of the space on a page, which led us to decide that cutting 20% off of anything improves it. We applied this idea to offi ce and house objects, including desk and a mirror. The images presented are the spreads of how they will be displayed in the year groups publication on this project, The Rulebook.

Poster design for The Rulebook, working with Dan Keeff e, we wanted to focus into the printing process of the poster itself and so we spent alot of time analysing the CMYK process and fold lines, we produced an interesting shape poster, which considered the design of the book as well, and all three typefaces used in the book, which linked nicely in with the three colours. Although we didn’t win the competition, was a really fun project.

A B O U T M EConcept is the most important for me and drives all of my creative decisions. I spend most time developing my idea into something clear, simple and innovative. I also think that having fun and enjoying your work is just as important and helps me push my work further and further. Research is paramount for me, going out and experiencing other peoples work and generally finding inspiration from environments around me. I have a developing interest in photography too, allowing my design to be influenced by different fields of art and design.

I have a big interest in mechanisms, and construction, with my dad being a builder and recently have had a big interest in bikes, slowly building up a knowledge of it, to the point where one day I could open a shop as a side project. Going to an all boys school meant I was in an environment that had a strong sense of competition, both academic and sporting. This led me into a situation where I was singing Rod Stewarts “Maggie May” in front of 1000 people for a singing competition. I also follow football and to a lesser extent basketball.

I worked in an architecture office for 3 weeks in Clapham where I helped with both technical and concept drawings for the company. In the second week, I pitched my concept garden design to the client. I regularly work with my dad, with building and finishing, the prime experience being where I almost built a conservatory myself from scratch. Taught me a lot about both construction and finishing for a client.

E M P L O Y M E N TI held a job in Sainsburys bakery for 4 years solid, where I learnt alot of skills with tie management and also how to interact with customers. I was in charge of a lot of things, to the point where, nearing the end of my work there I was in charge of the whole bakery on a few Sundays. I then held a position at Cook for almost half a year, which was a lot more about customer service. Before that, I held a job delivering leaflets and papers before that, meaning I have had a job for almost 5 years straight.
