As the noted cancer treating centers more than 50%

families come from outside of Bangalore city. These

families need to stay near the hospital for the long and

continuous childhood cancer treatment. Most families

are economically disadvantaged. For most, the cost of

treatment limits their access to accommodation, food

and other essential requirements during the

treatment and in worst cases they stay on dharmshalas

and hospital compound even in footpaths.

CanKids KidsCan is the National Society for Change for Childhood Cancer in India. It works pan India partnering with 70 Centers treating children with cancer across the country to provide best standards of treatment, care and support. It has 8 Change for Childhood Cancer in India State Projects, 5 HAHs, 1 Canshala , 1 Pediatric Pallaitive Care Center. It has supported over 38000 children and their families to date for treatment, education, supportive care and social and psychological support.
