General remarks on high power CCS:
• CE certification of charger and cooled cable depends on standards
• Update of IEC standards takes until 2018/2019
• VDE application rule (“VDE Anwendungsregel”) was chosen as fast-track, and is already available
• CHAdeMO is also working on high power version (100kW – 500V / 200 A) non liquid-cooled cable required
Modular power cabinet platform (160-350 kW)
ABB Terra HP power cabinet
Terra HP cabinet: Ultra-high output current design
• 375A max. output per single 160 kW cabinet
• 150 – 920VDC output voltage range
• 160 kW nominal / 175 kW peak power per cabinet
• 400VAC±10% /480VAC±10% input, Galvanic isolation included in cabinet
• Operating temperature: -35 °C … +50 °C
Robust outdoor cabinet
• IP 54 cabinet can be placed outdoors
• Vandalism proof, stainless steel, resistant against heavy snow & rain
Modular up to 480 kW
• Internal cabinet modularity: 3 x 125 A / 920 VDC
