Company Profile:

Foraying into Rajasthan, Raj West Power Ltd. (RWPL) is putting up a 1000 MW (8 Units of 125 MW each) Lignite based pit head power plant at village Bhadresh in Barmer District.

Rajasthan State Minerals and Mining Ltd. and Raj West Power Ltd. have collaborated to setup a joint venture company, Barmer Lignite Mining Company Limited (BLMCL).

This is the first and largest public- private partnership in the State of Rajasthan.

The first unit of the proposed eight units is slated to be synchronized in October 2008.

The water required for the project will be brought from Indira Gandhi National Project (IGNP)

Overview:

JSW Group, headed by Mr. Sajjan Jindal has grown from a steel rolling mill in 1982 to a multi business conglomerate worth US $ 3.7 billion within a short span of time.

JSW Group has diversified interests in Steel, Energy, Minerals and Mining, Aluminum, Infrastructure and Logistic, Cement and Information Technology.

Products:

Raj West Power Ltd. is the biggest privately owned Thermal /Electricity producing Plant.

Its functional units are producing 135 MW electricity per day.

The raw material which is being used is Pit Coal along with superheated water steam.

The by products Like Ash as a residue of coal and generated heat are recycled or reutilized which reduced the cost of Production greatly.

The entire Facility is Fully automated & using highly advanced technology to run the Production Process.

Currently around 215 employees and many off-roll workers are the part of this huge organisation.

Initiatives:

JSW Aluminium Ltd Jindal South West Holding Ltd. (JSWHL) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Andhra Pradesh on 1st July 2005, for setting up 1.4 mtpa Alumina Refinery and 0.25 mtpa Aluminium Smelter by JSW Group.

JSW Steel Ltd signed a development agreement with the West Bengal Government in January 2007.

JSW Energy Ltd to mitigate the acute power shortage of about 4000 MW, JSW Group has entered into MoU with the government of Maharashtra on June 10, 2005 for setting up of a power plant in Jaigad, Ratnagiri.

JSW Cement Ltd has 0.3 Mt of Portland slag cement making capacity at Vijayanagar.

Jharkhand Steel Limited has signed a (MOU) with Government of Jharkhand on 09.11.2005 for setting up a 10 Million Ton integrated steel plant and 900 MW captive power plant.
