From the Pastor’s Desk

I hope everyone is planning on coming to our Parish Picnic next weekend – on the

parish grounds – from 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. – rain or shine.

As we move into a more relaxed mode, I want to remind all that we continue to

gather each weekend for praise and worship. Summer schedule of Masses is: Saturday at

4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00 and 11:30 a.m..

Also, I am asking all to please be faithful to your financial support of the parish over the summer

months. It is during the more quiet days of summer that we do our major work on our buildings and grounds.

The bills keep coming in, and we deeply appreciate your continued support. Perhaps signing up for “On-Line

Giving” would be a possibility for you! Mary Ann, in the parish office, would be glad to help you and answer

any questions.

Men’s Spirituality Group Meeting

Wednesday, June 8, 7 - 8:30 p.m., Parish Center

This men’s spirituality group is for any adult man

who wishes the abundance of life that Christ wants

for us (John 10:10). The men participate honestly

and support each other through prayer and presence.

Each man must bravely do the hard work of self-

reflection and come willing to fully participate in the

meetings. During the meetings, we will reflect on

where we have been and where we are in our

spiritual journey. Our questions for this meeting are:

How is God acting in my life? and What do I need to

risk in order to grow? Please join us in an

atmosphere of trust, fellowship and sharing. No

experience with a group is necessary. Email Bede

Bidlack, for more information:

Harvard Square Churches Meals Program We Need Your Help Thursday Evenings

For the past 4 years St. Peter Parish has been helping

to provide volunteers to Harvard Square Churches

Meals Program each Thursday during the summer.

The program serves a nutritious, sit-down dinner

every Thursday night to over 100 people at Christ

Church, 0 Garden Street (to the right of the Old

Burial Ground in Harvard Square). They rely on

college students for volunteers. Our parish has been

able to help during school breaks and summers. Over

40 St. Peter’s parishioners have volunteered. If you

are interested in helping out we are hoping to send 4-

5 volunteers a week from Thursday May 12th through

Thursday September 15th. Volunteers would need to

arrive between 4:30-4:45 pm. Doors open for guests

at 5:00 p.m. and dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. Clean

up concludes at 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions

or would like to sign up, please contact Anna

Molettieri at 617-547-4235 x17 or

[email protected] It is important

that you sign up in advance if you are interested.

We Need You to Bring the Eucharist to

Our Neighbors Who Cannot Be With Us

Our parish has a growing ministry to bring

communion to people who are in nursing homes,

assisted living facilities, hospitals, as well as to

people who are homebound. Please consider

volunteering! This is a wonderful way to share our

Eucharistic banquet with those who are nearby but

unable to be with us. You can fit this ministry to

your own schedule, in as little as an hour or two a

week, on weekdays or weekends. No prior

experience is needed. Deacon Tim O’Donnell and

his wife Elke will provide training and help with the

logistics. If you are interested in exploring this,

please call or email Deacon Tim at 617-897-1148 or

Memorial Day Prayer

On this Memorial Day, we pray for those who

courageously laid down their lives for the cause of

freedom. May the example of their sacrifice inspire in

us the selfless love of your Son, our Lord Jesus

Christ. Bless the families of our fallen troops, and fill

their homes and their lives with your strength and

peace. In union with people of goodwill of every

nation, embolden us to answer the call to work for

peace and justice, and thus, seek an end to violence

and conflict around the globe. We pray through

Christ our Lord. Amen
