MINISTRY TO THE HOMEBOUND

Please call the Parish Office if you or someone you know is ill, facing surgery or in the hospital and would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick and Holy Eucharist. Additionally, call the office if you would like to be added to our prayer list in the bulletin.

Go out to all the world, and tell the good news. “You remember me , don’t you?” Today’s Gospel is a vivid story concerning those who will and will not be received into the banquet hall of the eternal kingdom of God. Jesus tells us that when we knock at the door to the hall his response may be one of non-recognition. This is a reminder as we strive to live a life in accord with the Gospel. If we take our Christian commitment casually, we wonder whether or not the Lord will recognize us when we knock at the door. As today’s scriptures are proclaimed, let us be renewed in our commitment to strive for a more intimate relationship with Christ. Each life well lived holds the key to the narrow door. God wants everyone in His kingdom! To be faithful is to be “number one.” May God bless you and your family with peace. Sincerely yours, Sister Noreen , Pastoral Associate

ST. MONICA-ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE --PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION St. Monica-St. Thomas the Apostle Parish School of Religion – CCD, will resume classes on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 720 – 40th Avenue. Class hours are 8:30 – 10:30 am which includes participation in the Mass. The students are engaged in the Mass as a continuation of their learning experience in the Catholic faith. Attendance at the Mass is an academic and a spiritual experience as students are learning the diversity of prayers in the Mass as well as experiencing the presence of Jesus in the Eucharistic celebration. All students in grades pre-k through grade 8 in private, Catholic or public schools are invited to attend the Sunday school. The classes include preparation for the reception of the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and Confirmation, instruction in the Catholic faith on all grade levels, pray-ers and the Bible, the Liturgical year, lives of the saints and the rosary.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word Students in grades pre-k through grade 2 leave the Church during the readings and homily, and return to the classrooms for additional instruction in the Catholic faith on their comprehension level. Registration forms are on the tables by the side door in both churches. For additional information, contact Sister Noreen at [email protected]. Together – parents and teachers –we will open the doors of faith for your children. Sincerely yours in Christ, Sister Noreen, Faith Formation Director
